Bedroom Goals

NOW, WE KNOW THAT NOT EVERYONE’S TASTES ARE GOING TO BE THE SAME WHEN IT COMES TO HOW TO DECORATE YOUR BEDROOM – SOME PEOPLE LIKE TO DRAPE A ROOM HEAD TO TOE IN CRUSHED VELVET AND SOME PEOPLE LIKE TO BE A BIT MORE PARED BACK AND SPARE – IT’S OKAY TO BE DIFFERENT!

That being said… there are definitely a few style rules you can adhere to if you want to make the most out of your bedroom’s look. Here are a few things to bear in mind if you want to have the most envied bedroom setup on Pinterest.

Be Bed Beautiful
It’s commonly accepted that your bed is going to be the focal point of your bedroom – hence the name. Make sure that the duvet, pillows and throw rugs you have on top of the bed all match (or complement) the colour scheme you have going on in your room currently. If the underneath of the bed is crammed full of last season’s coats (and other various bric-a-brac) then be sure to hide it from sight with a bed skirt so the room does not appear cluttered!

Get a Snug Rug
If you have hardwood floors within your home, you’re probably all too aware of how horrible it feels to manage to get yourself out of bed only to be greeted by cold feet – as if mornings weren’t torture enough! Getting some floor coverings that both look and feel great helps to add a practical and stylish touch to your bedroom.

Smart Mirror Placement
Every bedroom needs a mirror, that’s a given, but you want to be looking at your reflection on your terms. If you’ve just woken up with last night’s makeup on and you can spot your reflection in the corner of your eye then you’ll probably be less than impressed. Some people may say putting mirrors on the ceiling can really help bring a feeling of space into a room… but at what cost? Utilise some dressing table mirrors like the ones available from Taskers to help avoid this problem! Take special care in what the mirror is point towards as well, as you don’t want any unsightly parts of your room (like your en-suite toilet) being doubled up!

Utilise Your Bedside Tables
As tempting as it can be to just leave anything and everything on your bedside tables, try to be a bit stricter and keep everything organised – less is more, as they say. A bedside lamp, some fresh flowers in a vase and a collection of your favourite books (neatly assembled) can help to bring a chic, stylish feel to your bedside.

Let There be (Natural) Light
Some of us aren’t blessed enough to all have gorgeous bay windows to play with in our master bedrooms, but we should all pay attention to how much light we can let into our rooms. Make sure you choose curtains that are able to give you good control of the light that can come into our rooms through the windows – drapes that hang to the floor are the best option here.
