FIVE MORE WELL-KNOWN BRANDS WILL JOIN THE LINE-UP AT THE NEW LIVERPOOL SHOPPING PARK, INCLUDING: RIVER ISLAND, SMYTHS TOYS AND TK MAXX.
Fashion retailer River Island (6,559 sq ft), TK Maxx (10,000 sq ft), Smyths Toys (14,996 sq ft) sandwich retailer Subway (1,300 sq ft) and a mystery high street fashion retailer (13,049 sq ft) that His & Hers can’t wait to hear more about are the latest names to sign up to the new shopping park, which is expected to become one of the UK’s largest when it opens this October.
This latest raft of tenants follows the recent announcement that Outfit, JD Sports, M&S Food Hall and Boots are also joining the park, as well as leisure operators Hollywood Bowl, Frankie & Benny’s and Chiquito.
River Island, TK Maxx, Smyths Toys and the fashion retailer will take units in the Western Quarter; a distinct horseshoe of 17 retail units which front on to Edge Lane. Subway will be located close to the new Frankie & Benny’s and Chiquito restaurants, at the park’s entrance.
James Maule-Ffinch, senior asset manager for The Derwent Group said: “We’ve always wanted Liverpool Shopping Park to have a strong focus on lifestyle and fashion and that is starting to come to bear with our latest signings. We’re in final negotiations with a number of other retailers and we’ll be excited to announce those in due course.”
Amy Matthews from Smyths Toys said: ‘Liverpool Shopping Park is really breathing new life into this part of the city and we’re thrilled to be part of that as we extend our footprint in Merseyside.”
As well as creating 3000 new jobs and transforming the old Edge Lane Retail Park and surrounding area, Liverpool Shopping Park will also give the Albert Gubay Charitable Foundation 50% of its profits for charitable causes.
David Lyons, chief executive of The Derwent Group added: “The Derwent Group is part of a charitable foundation which means that 50% of our profits go to charity. For every £100 that Liverpool Shopping Park tenants pay in rent, £42 will go directly to good causes and we expect many of those to be here in Merseyside. That’s a hugely unique part of the Liverpool Shopping Park experience and we’re very proud that we’ll be able to help make a tangible difference to community and charity projects in the area.”
Liverpool Shopping Park will total 727,000 sq ft of retail space once complete as well as parking for 1500 cars and a significant leisure offer. AEW are the architects on the scheme. McMullen Wilson, Petch & Co and CSP Curson Sowerby are the acting retail and leisure agents.
