IF YOU’RE PLANNING YOUR WEDDING (AND WE KNOW SEVERAL LOYAL HIS & HERS READERS WHO ARE!) YOU’LL FIND PLENTY OF INSPIRATION AT BRIDE: THE WEDDING SHOW.
ABOUT BRIDE: THE WEDDING SHOW
Bride: The Wedding Show exhibits over 150 nuptial North-West suppliers, showcasing the latest trends and styles, as well as essential wedding options brides are still choosing as part of their special day.
As the show is returning to Tatton Park for it’s 16th year, exhibitors are giving an exclusive insight into the changes they’ve noticed appear and develop over the last 16 years in the wedding industry as well as customs that are proving as popular as ever.
THE DRESS
Arguably one of the most important moments of the day is seeing the bride for the first time in the finery of her meticulously chosen gown. With seasoned suppliers such as Cheshire Bridal Wear and Timeless Bride, you’ll find the pick of the wedding gown crop at Bride: The Wedding Show. Many brides still choose to keep things traditional with 74% opting for an ivory or white dress, but more modern options are getting increasingly popular with 36% of brides opting for pink and 4% black, breaking from the tradition of never wearing the customary colour of funerals for their nuptials!
The Bridal Lounge, exhibiting at the show this year, said brides are still choosing to keep their outfits a surprise though with most secreting away their gowns from their grooms until they walk down the aisle but are choosing more modern styles with illusion sleeves, cape dresses as alternatives to veils and more relaxed wedding dresses.
VOWS AND VENUES
Traditional venues such as churches and glamorous hotels are still the most popular venues of choice for couples planning their weddings with 27% of couples choosing a church. However, rustic themed weddings and vintage style weddings have seen a rise with more weddings taking place in more unconventional places such as museums and barns.
Kris Beaumont from Owen House Wedding Barn, commented that ‘we appeal to those couples who are looking for a wedding that doesn’t fit into the stereotype ‘hotel with a bit of glitz and glamour’ type of occasion. Instead, we offer quirky touches such as a prosecco truck and rustic finishes of bare wood and straw bales for a pinterest-worthy wedding and provide a much less formal and more relaxed atmosphere.’
CONGRATS WITH CONFETTI
Congratulating the happy couple with showers of confetti is still one of the most popular traditions but there are easy ways to personalize the age-old tradition. From pretty petals, eco-friendly bio-degradble options and glitter galore, Ashley Corrigan from supplier, Shropshire Petals said their confetti cannons were proving increasingly popular to make sure you announce your marriage with a bang!
MUSIC TO YOUR EARS
Setting the right score to your wedding is no easy feat. From traditional organists, classic quartets and of course, the obligatory cheesy disco, trends on the wedding music scenes are interesting and as varied as your Spotify playlist. 71% of couples are still booking a DJ whilst 47% couples are opting for some atmospheric live music. Bride: The Wedding Show has some great bands, DJ’s and other music options to make sure every dance is as special as your first dance and ends on the right note too.
