DOCKSIDE DINING CLUB, THE CITY’S NEW MUST-VISIT FOR FOODIES, WILL BE OPENING ITS DOORS TO THE PUBLIC THIS SATURDAY. AND THEY’VE JUST SHARED THE ABOVE SNEAK PEEK AS ALL THE RESTAURATEURS ADD THE FINISHING TOUCHES TO THE VENUE.
Dockside Dining Club will be a casual food hall, featuring a number of different restaurant brands, and His & Hers recently heard that one of our very favourite North West restaurants, Blackberry Grove, will be bringing their multi-award winning cuisine to add to the mix.
We don’t mind admitting that we indulged in a little whoop when we heard that news!
You’ll also find a host of the city’s favourite eateries, including Izakaya (spoiler alert: there’s a picture of their Dockside Dining venue, which they’re working hard on as we type below).
Dockside Dining Club will have universal appeal, catering for all dietary requirements around the clock, every day of the week. With a vibrant and eclectic mix of events, market stalls, food traders and beverage offerings, this exciting contemporary venue is new to the docks appealing to all; tourists and out of town clientele, whilst merging with the lively local scene at bustling Castle Street and The Albert Dock.
Regular events will see Dockside Dining Club hosting a variety of classes including children’s and adult yoga, meditation, Pilates, mindfulness, exercise classes and a number of wellbeing workshops. Market stalls will have independent traders offering a selection of products which will consist of vintage, vegan prints, crystal jewellery, boho clothing and accessories, naturally handmade beauty products, skincare, candles, fresh bread, homemade chutneys, jams, preserves and much much more.
As well a number of exciting food concepts which are brand new to Liverpool, Dockside Dining Club have some impressive independents joining them. Award winning gelato manufacturer Cafe Cream will be in attendance when they open their doors in July. Cowfish Smokehouse, KO Grill, and Liverpool sushi specialists Izakaya are confirmed too. Covering all angles the venue will also have Dockside Cafe serving up brunches and lunches, superfood smoothies, handmade juices, locally roasted neighbourhood coffee and artisan teas.
Caffe Cream is an award winning gelato manufacturer based on the Wirral. All gelato is made by hand using traditional Italian batch production methods, which are meticulously developed by the Caffe Cream team during multiple research trips to Italy. Their unique mouth watering arrays of flavours are what has made them such a success over The Mersey. Rocky Road, Clotted Cream & Blueberry, Gingerbread and their famous Accidental Jaffa Cake! They will also offer a selection of hand crafted vegan gelato, a recipe that they have developed over the years which is incomparable to any other on the market! The vegan gelato flavours include Salted Caramel, Pina Colada and Oreos and Cream. As well as selling their gelato by the scoop, they will also be combining it with a variety of exciting and unique dessert concepts and milkshake creation.
Cowfish Smokehouse were voted to be the best food offering at The Liverpool Food & Drink Festival on their debut appearance with a glowing review from the festival organisers: “Specialising in authentic BBQ, Cowfish really know how to put a spin on premium fish dishes. As if their smoked scallop lollipop, wrapped in prosciutto ham wasn’t tempting enough, they’ve only gone and surpassed mind-blowing chargrilled expectations with their Surf & Turf choice, which brings foodies the best from land and sea, their smoked lobster with smoked beef brisket is a huge contender for foodies to devour this spring”.
Lucky Fish founder and chef Ben Gorry is a new face on the scene. He decided to showcase the very best of British Street Food, the traditional fish & chips. Ben said “There really couldn’t have been a more perfect place to enjoy a locally sourced beer battered cod, mushy peas and malt vinegar chip than the Pier Head and The Docks. We are thrilled to be making our arrival at such a fantastic venue.”
The chip shop prides itself on only using the best ingredients cooked traditionally. The menu will also showcase a catch of the day, popcorn scallops and black pudding fritters. Ben & the team are excited about introducing a full vegan menu which includes revolutionary beer battered vegan sausage & tofish, perfect for that summer stroll along the Mersey.
Another one of the stirring independents on board is IZAKAYA. Launching in Liverpool in 2016 by Kurt Wilson & Harry Marquart, IZAKAYA is a Japanese Sushi restaurant which started with a 3x3m stall at Liverpool Food & Drink Festival and has since expanded to a restaurant on Castle Street and a regular on the festivals circuit around The North West. IZAKAYA have already proven to be hugely popular – not only with sushi lovers, but they have also forged a strong following for their vast vegan options. Their signature dish will be the Katsu Curry which is served with either chicken on or with squash, sticky rice and pickles.
Harry Marquart was winner of the Irish Masterchef in 2010 and worked in Michelin restaurants including Pollen Street Social and The Chester Grosvenor. Harry told us, “It is such an amazing opportunity for us to showcase our high quality Japanese dishes. Food markets have really taken off across the UK and we can’t wait to start serving later this month. Dockside Dining Club is such a beautiful venue and it’s located in possibly the most beautiful part of the city, so we were obviously thrilled to be confirmed.”
Full hire of the space at Dockside Dining Club for corporate clients can also be obtained as well as transformations of the space for different projects and ideas. As well as offering free WiFi and a large area for a wide range of events; weddings, private parties, business conferences, corporate functions as well a vast selection of regular entertainment and one off events. The team will also offer a support service to aid customers in creating an event bespoke to their requirements.
We don’t know about you, but we’re counting down to checking Dockside Dining Club out over the weekend!
