Everyman theatre launch

Here at His & Hers the news that there is a fabulous new cinema, just launched, in the city is reason enough to celebrate. This cinema comes complete with a Hollywood style bar, where you can eat fun food, devour cocktails and generally make merry. We felt impelled to check this out.

We are booked in to watch ‘A Star is Born’. The staff are friendly, welcoming, efficient and seem to love their jobs. Movies are created in dream factories. It seems fitting that we get to view in sumptuous style. The bar predominates at the entrance. It is elegant, glossy, and very well stocked. Any food and drink that you purchase can be taken into the cinema screens. It is boutique cinema crafted with chintz sofas and customised comfort.

Crispin Lilly, the CEO of Everyman Cinemas, is a man on a mission. His aim is to make every visit special and truly memorable. He believes that cinema delivers a dream, and that the experience should be something magical. There is no absolute guarantee that you will love every movie that you see, but the whole visit should be truly enjoyable. The screen viewings are intimate and luxurious. Beautifully upholstered couches are inviting. A place to relax, enjoy a cocktail and indulge in some popcorn or possibly a burger, of your choice. Everything is about quality, including the digital technology that is impressively sharp.

Everyman is spreading across the region. It has to be the right location, as in Altrincham. There will soon be another in the centre of Manchester. It is exciting times for the Metquarter too, because there is a brand new food hall due to open next year to make this a star attraction.

We loved ‘A Star is Born’; though it is a ‘weepy’. All credit to Bradley Cooper, who took singling lessons and learnt to play the piano to make the role authentic. He is the emotional core of the film. Lady Gaga is a star obviously; and some great tunes in the mix.

We will be heading back to see ‘Stan & Ollie’. Liverpool has become a centre of excellence in so many different aspects. Something to smile about, definitely.
