In celebration of International Women’s Day on Friday 8th March, Everyman Cinema at Liverpool’s Metquarter has announced it will be rebranding its Liverpool venue to ‘Everywoman’ for the month of March.

The luxury, boutique cinema which launched in December 2018 has revealed the temporary name change is to celebrate and empower women across Liverpool.

The new branding will be displayed at the entrance of the cinema inside the Metquarter and also online to pay tribute to the national day.

What’s more, in further celebration, Everyman Cinema at Metquarter will also be launching ‘Girls Night’ – a month long series of hand-picked films which celebrate strong female roles – screening every Thursday throughout March, including must watch movie favourite’s Clueless (7th), Thelma and Louise (14th),Bridesmaids (20th) and Legally Blonde (28th).

Everywoman will launch its series of ‘Girls Night’ events with an exclusive evening on Friday 8th March where guests are invited to join a special guest talk, followed by a showing of Hidden Figures. Tickets prices are £10 per person and includes a cocktail on arrival, the special guest talk and the film.

Maria Klockare, Events and Openings Manager said: “2019 is set to be a big year for women in film and the decision to rename Everyman to Everywoman is to honour and support all women celebrating the day. We have already seen a number of fantastic females take home awards at the Golden Globes and the Oscars, with many of these women like Lady Gaga and Olivia Coleman using their influential status to give a voice and empower women globally, which is why as a cinema chain we feel it’s important to continue to show support for the stars in our industry.

“We can’t wait to kick off the celebrations with screenings of some of the nation’s favourite films and celebrate this iconic day.”

Jennina O’Neill, Metquarter Centre Manager said: “Liverpool has a fantastic history of past and present inspirational women from Liverpool, including the likes of Margaret Aspinall, Katarina Thompson-Johnson and Jodie Comer. We can’t wait to launch Everywoman this Friday and welcome some of today’s most inspirational women to Metquarter.”

Everyman Cinema is a discerning social space to indulge in a great evening out, with a bar and Spielburger restaurant area, a hospitality led team providing service to seats, a broad programme of films and Everyman signature sofa seating.
