HIS AND HERS RELISH A CHALLENGE! WE HAD AN INVITATION TO ENJOY SUNDAY LUNCH AT THE FLORIST LAUNCH. IT IS A BREATH-TAKING VENUE, NEWLY RENOVATED, FESTOONED WITH SPECTACULAR FLOWER ARRANGEMENTS, AND ORIGINAL ART-WORK. IT HAS A SPACIOUS FEEL AT THE ENTRANCE, WHERE DELIGHTFUL FLOWER ARRANGEMENTS SEEM TO IMPRESS AND ENCHANT EQUALLY.

The Florist is located in a beautiful, historical building. Some original features remain: and it has now been transformed into something quite spectacular.
We arrived for pre-lunch drinks in the bar on the ground floor level. The cocktail menu is pretty impressive and the drinks’ menu is extensive. There are floral decorations throughout the venue. And if flower arrangement is what you are into, then classes can be booked.
We made our way upstairs, savouring the notion of traditional Sunday roast. We ordered respectively, lamb, and chicken with all the trimmings. It came with giant Yorkshires, that still packed great savoury flavour. The lamb was perfectly cooked, still slightly pink, which is no easy task when there are so many guests to serve. The roast potatoes were perfect, flavoured with the stock from the meat. It is as good a Sunday roast as I’ve ever tasted. My companion was equally impressed with the chicken, which was succulent with a rich wholesome taste. Crème Brûlée was on the menu, and, naturally, I felt compelled to order it. I asked how the chef had created such a perfect dish. There was talk of infusions of lemon and vanilla pods. It combined lemon, vanilla, and buttery cream, that managed to be light.
We were delighted to discover that The Florist is doing Brunch in some style. Be it shopping or taking in some culture, The Florist is the place to start and/or finish your day. Great food and friendly efficient service. An experience not to be missed.
