At a time when we appear to have crammed at least a year’s worth of breaking news into a few short days, it’s particularly welcome to read about companies and individuals working together to make the world a little bit better.
Yesterday, His & Hers read that LVMH Perfumes & Cosmetics (the group behind brands like Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior and Givenchy to name but a few) is preparing its production site to manufacture substantial volumes of hydroalcoholic gel to be provided to public authorities.
LVMH will therefore use the production facilities of its perfumes and cosmetics brands (Parfums Christian Dior, Guerlain and Parfums Givenchy) in France to produce hydroalcoholic gel from today.
The gel will be delivered for free to the French authorities. Through this initiative, LVMH intends to help address the risk of a shortage of products in France and enable a greater number of people to continue to take the right actions to protect themselves from the spread of the Coronavirus.
LVMH will continue to honour this commitment for as long as necessary in association with the French health authorities.
His & Hers is grateful to the LVMH PR representative who took our call so swiftly today and helped to provide us with all of the details of the new initiative.
We have a feeling we’ll be hearing more about big brands using their production and purchasing powers to produce products that are suddenly in massive demand over the coming days and weeks.
And for once, that’s even more exciting than writing about handbags!
