His & Hers has an affinity with crazy golf and exotic cocktails, so this was an irresistible invitation. The Junk Yard is a vast warehouse space in the superstructure of Liverpool ONE. It is the perfect venue for twenty somethings and the young at heart. Cocktails with names like ‘Fairway to Heaven’: Wyborowa vodka, Cherry Lambrini, Vimto, lemon and lemonade, are hard to resist. We started in with the cocktails, and bites to eat: chilli cheese nachos, and veggie chilli nachos with cheese sauce, jalapenos, guacamole, salsa and sour cream. We can recommend the nacho and chilli hot dogs. This is fun food with attitude.

The crazy golf is pure entertainment. There are fantastical structures, and it is definitely hit and run, and dribble and drive. There are wrecked cars littered about. What struck me particularly, was just how much fun everyone was having. People posed in vehicles, people played crazy golf, laughing their way around the course. We followed the people ahead of us because there are lots of twists and turns, and it would be easy to lose your way. We had lots of giggles along the way. I stopped counting shots very early on.
You need to book the golf, and you should probably sample a cocktail or two before you play. There are three ‘mashed up’ 9-hole crazy golf courses themed around weird junk scrap-yard slides: basically a jungle of junk.
We felt we had earned another cocktail once we had completed the course. I tried Jamrock. It is Havana, three year rum, Chambord lime, elderflower, apple and lemonade. And it tastes divine. The atmosphere was funky and friendly. The bar staff know how to mix a cocktail or two or three, and are pure efficiency. There are mocktails if you prefer, with apple, kiwi, lemon and lemonade. Or you could opt for strawberry, Vimto, cranberry, lemon, and cream soda. It is a venue to sit, relax, smile, and people watch. Simply because it is great to see other folk enjoying themselves so much. It is a great way to spend an evening, winding down, and enjoying the scene and the music. There was a great band performing at the launch. Treat yourself to some silliness, with epic benefits!
