Providing Liverpool and Manchester with authentic Greek cuisine, Laros has announced its expansion into Mossley Hill.

Opening this summer, in the heart of South Liverpool, Laros’ Mossley Hill venue will be open everyday from 10am serving pastries and coffee, with its authentic Greek menu including popular gyros, souvlaki and fresh Greek salads being served and delivered from 11.30am until 10pm.

Renowned for being the first of its kind, Laros is a hybrid between a restaurant and takeaway, with beautiful interiors that are reminiscent of Greece for those who are dining in, as well as delicious dishes that can be enjoyed at home.

Laros’ aim is to change the face of Greek street food across the North West and beyond.

Owner Nikolaos Fylladitakis has worked in the hospitality industry for many years, owning his own restaurants in the city. He opened Laros’ Bold Street site in May 2021, and within six months had expanded into Manchester, opening a dark kitchen to offer the highest quality, authentic Greek cuisine to the area via delivery.

Originally from Crete, the restaurateur is keen to showcase authentic Greek dishes and produce, with the majority of Laros’ ingredients sourced and imported from Greece itself.

Other ingredients that cannot come from Greece, are locally sourced using trusted independents.

Laros’ menu staples include delicious chicken or pork gyros and chicken or pork souvlaki skewers. It’s a place where people can enjoy the ease of street food, whilst also experiencing the essence of fine cuisine.

Other menu staples include Laros’ ‘better than halloumi’ Talagani cheese fries, as well as the No Carb Box and traditional recipes for their delicious vegan pitta wraps. There’s also deliciously fresh and authentic salads on the menu including a classic Greek salad, a Politiki cabbage-based salad and Cretan Dakos salad with tomatoes and olives.

For dessert, Laros has introduced Loukoumades to Liverpool for the very first time. Loukoumades are little sweet Greek donut balls served traditionally with honey syrup and chopped walnuts but Laros has put its own twist on the classic with the addition of lavender to its honey syrup.

Laros’ other variations include white chocolate and hazelnut or milk chocolate, making them the perfect way to finish off a meal. Their most recent variation is with pistachio sauce and crushed pistachios.

On the expansion into South Liverpool, Nikolaos explained: “Laros has become incredibly popular in the city centre and surrounding areas for both dining in and takeaway. We’ve had many customers visiting and ordering from South Liverpool and Mossley Hill is the perfect location to showcase our authentic Greek street food to the local area. We’re very excited to open this summer and to meet people from all over South Liverpool.

“Our new venue will be open for coffee and pastries before our much-loved authentic Greek dishes are served from 11.30am until 10pm.”
