Save your skin with e-cigarettes

IN THE MIDDLE OF SUCH A HEATWAVE, PROTECTING YOURSELF FROM THE SUN’S RAYS IS ABSOLUTELY VITAL FOR BOTH YOUR APPEARANCE AND YOUR HEALTH. HOWEVER, FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO CURRENTLY HAVE A PENCHANT FOR CIGARETTES (OR CIGARS IF YOU CAN AFFORD THEM), TACKLING YOUR ADDICTION IS VITAL IF YOU WANT HEALTHY AND RADIANT SKIN LONG-TERM.

It’s long been well known that when you smoke, you’re breathing in a wide variety of poisonous chemicals that have only a negative impact on your health. Specifically for your skin however, the intake of carbon monoxide will reduce the level of oxygen your body is able to put into your bloodstream and subsequently reach your skin cells.

This effect typically manifests in the form of discoloration, as the skin loses its lustre and colour due an inadequate supply of fuel it needs to operate as it is intended to. That’s not to mention an increase in the prevalence of wrinkles as the skin finds its itself unable to repair properly. Without enough oxygen to reach damaged areas of your body, the recovery process will be delayed and skin will appear more withered as a result of such a dangerous habit.

However with the spread of the e-cigarette (e-cig), this impact and other health consequences of smoking are greatly reduced, if not eliminated entirely. Through a process called vaping, e-cig users get their nicotine via the heating up of e-liquids, flavoured organic compounds that contain none of the tobacco, tar, or other elements that make cigarettes so lethal.

Although not totally free of additives, research by the NHS indicates that vaping is around 90% better for you than smoking. In terms of improving your well-being overall, moving away from tobacco is one of the best decisions you’ll ever make and more than just your skin will undoubtedly show some signs of recovery.

After just a short period without cigarettes, your skin should begin to recover from the damage inflicted upon it but this isn’t a certainty if you’ve been a smoker for many years. However the skin is a particularly resilient part of your body that’s specially designed to repair after injury, so there is cause to be optimistic in this respect.

With an alternative to cigarette smoking now at hand and easily available, there’s no excuses really to not make the switch to vaping and put a stop to years of damage not just to your skin but to all of you, both inside and out. The extent to which you can recover grows increasingly limited the longer you delay the transition process to stopping smoking for good, and e-cigs can play a key part in helping this process go as smoothly as possible.
