3 Ways to Transform Workwear into an Evening Outfit

It’s a common dilemma: you’ve been invited somewhere fun after work, but don’t have the time to go home and get ready. Tempted to cancel? Well, there’s no need – you can easily transform your look from day to night. And even better, you won’t have to change your clothes. Achieve the ultimate day-night look by following our guide.

1. Beauty care

Are you wondering how on earth you’ll fit your make-up kit into your work bag? Or how you’ll wipe off, and then re-apply it? Did you know that you don’t have to worry about either of these things? Wet wipe packets take up unnecessary space in our handbags – so why not bring a small tub of moisturiser instead? Squirt it onto kitchen towel or paper from the office, and voila: you’ve got an instant make-up remover.

Just make sure to avoid your eyes when rubbing it onto your skin. Likewise, rather than carrying your whole make-up kit around with you all day, how about stripping it down to the essentials, like your mascara, foundation and concealer? That way, you’ll be able to glam-up while saving precious bag space.

2. Bag and accessories

What is the ideal bag for a day-night outfit? If you can afford to travel to work lightly, you could easily just use a clutch for the whole day and night. But if you need to bring your laptop, lunch and other hefty items from home, don’t worry. You can always carry them in your usual rucksack and pack your clutch for later on.

If you want to keep your valuables safe – but don’t want to bring them out – why don’t you ask the reception or security team at your work to store them in a safe place overnight? Or if you’ve got a locker, put them in there. Alternatively, you can ask a colleague who lives nearby if they could keep them safe until you pick them up either later on or in the morning.

Whoever said you shouldn’t flaunt your clutch on a workday?

3. Your outfit

You probably don’t fancy travelling to work with an extra set of clothes. And who could really blame you? Select a customisable outfit, though, and you won’t need to. If your workplace allows smart casual wear, how about coming to work in a chic skirt or pair of trousers, paired with an appropriate shirt and set of shoes.

Pack your upper wear for the evening in your workbag, and you’ll be able to transform your look at the end of your shift. Or if you’re struggling for room in your bag, you could just select an extra stylish work outfit for that day, before embellishing it with light jewellery or accessories before heading out.

Transitioning from day to evening wear can be far easier than it sounds. Now that you know, you may choose to go out after work more often.
