VERDANT, ALLERTON ROAD’S LATEST FOODY OFFERING, THREW OPEN ITS DOORS THIS MONTH WELCOMING A BEVVY OF BEAUTIES, BLOGGERS AND BUSINESS REPRESENTATIVES FOR ITS OFFICIAL VIP LAUNCH.
Almost 100 attended throughout the evening and were treated to an impressive selection of canapés from head chef David Mao, that included ceviche of local rock oysters in shallot and tobacco vinaigrette; smoked salmon two ways with caviar and dill espuma; Gressingham duck with cucumber parisienne and duck and shallot jus; minted crispy shoulder of lamb with confit tomato; gourmet fishcakes with slow poached quails egg; and cauliflower espresso with foraged black truffle; goats cheese and risotto croquette; and chicken parfait hens eggs – along with a selection of some of Verdant’s signature cocktails.
The evening was a great success with many guests already having booked to return. Owner Phil Melia said: “I’m really pleased with the response we had from all our guests. Everybody complimented the canapés, with many saying they were the best they’d had!
“The atmosphere was great too. To attract so many to our restaurant, which is outside the city centre – and on a Tuesday evening – we feel is testament to the hard work we’ve invested in bringing something a little bit special to the area.”
The evening was attended by Hollyoaks actor David Kennedy, Capital Breakfast presenter Adam Weighell, blogger and model Jade Ainsworth and Big Brother 2015 contestant & presenter Mark Byron as well as leading figures from Liverpool’s business community.
Verdant is now open Monday – Sunday for lunch, dinner and drinks in their reserved bar area. To make a reservation email bookings@verdantallerton.com or call0151 475 7039.
