Who knew that we’d all end up spending so much time at home for much of last year and the first part of this year? If you’re starting to crave a taste of life beyond your living room, you may be thinking about booking a mini-break after hotels and B&Bs re-open on 17th May.
Liverpool’s Shankly Hotel (named after one of Liverpool FC’s best loved managers, Bill Shankly) is currently taking reservations and is preparing to fully re-open, having opened its Eden rooftop garden on 13th April.
The Guide has recently recommended the Eden rooftop garden as one of their top Liverpool rooftops and terraces for cocktails (mentioning that it’s ideal for those who’d like a little taste of Ibiza without leaving the city!)
While we wait to hear whether international travel will be on the cards later this summer, it’s certainly worth knowing where we can get those holiday vibes close to home!
Also, while we may all be dreaming of beautiful beaches, small treats, such as sitting with friends or family and enjoying food and drink that hasn’t been prepared in your own kitchen still feels like a real treat.
Hotel owner Lawrence Kenwright said: “We are gearing up for what I believe will be a safe and successful comeback after the Covid nightmare and we’re itching to get going.”
And his website states: The Shankly Hotel is a tribute to one of football’s greatest managers: Bill Shankly. Offering spacious rooms, a trendy bar and restaurant and unseen memorabilia, you will never want to leave our Liverpool hotel.
The hotel has been referred to as one of the most ‘Instagramed’ hotels in the UK and it has attracted just under 82,000 Instagram followers, showing that you don’t have to travel overseas for eye-catching interiors and a sun dappled rooftop bar.
With those working in the hospitality sector in the city preparing for a full re-opening, we have a feeling that hotels in Liverpool are set to prove very popular with both those living near to the city and those who are travelling from other parts of the UK.
According to YouGov, Liverpool is currently the 7th most popular city in the UK and the 2nd most famous. And with nearby beaches in Crosby and Formby, The Albert Dock, museums, galleries, the famous Liverpool waterfront and, of course, plenty of tributes to the Beatles and to Liverpool’s football legends (not to mention the temptations of Liverpool ONE for those who’ve been missing non-essential shopping trips lately) Liverpool offers plenty of attractions for visitors of all ages.
