IT HAS BEEN A HECTIC FEW YEARS FOR JOANNA AICHER, SINCE SHE OPENED HER ICONIC RESTAURANT, BLACKBERRY GROVE, IN NEW BRIGHTON. HIS & HERS WERE LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE THERE AT THE LAUNCH PARTY, WHICH BOASTED OUTSTANDINGLY FINE FOOD, AND A FEW CHOICE CELEBRITIES AS GUESTS. THE DÉCOR IS ELEGANT, AND THERE IS AN EYE-CATCHING SEA-FOOD MURAL DECORATING THE ENTRANCE WALL.

Joanna has a great team and you are assured of a warm welcome. This restaurant caters for gluten free diets, has a great vegetarian menu with vegan dishes, alongside burgers and delicious meat dishes. It is close to The Floral Pavilion and The Light Cinema if you want a bite to eat before a show.
Since the launch, it has been hard to keep up. Blackberry Grove folk have been sighted at food & drink festivals wowing visitors. There are regular events held at the restaurant that include music and poetry evenings, and ‘Singo’ will take place: the evening of 3rd August, 2017. It is a fun quiz game played to great music, and hosted by Cherry Lane of Garlands fame.
Blackberry Grove collects awards. The latest is from Cheshire Life. It is prestigious one because it is given for ‘Outstanding Customer Care’. It might be Sunday roast, or a great burger, or a vegetarian Thai Curry that you yearn for. It is all on offer. My own personal favourite is the delicious and substantial fish & chips. The batter has a definite crunch, and the fish is beautifully fresh, and the hand cut chips have a great flavour.
The 2 AA Rosette award winning head chef, Andy Jones, is about to join the team. There will shortly be a new summer menu, to match the intriguing summer cocktail one. So much already achieved and so much to look forward to. Support local independents, they are at the heart of local communities.
