With Brazilica Festival returning to Liverpool for its tenth year, samba dancing, live music and a sea of colour will be hitting the Pier Head Village on Saturday, July 15, from midday until 10pm. 

The free festival, which offers an action-packed programme of Brazilian-based entertainment and cultural fun, is renowned for its array of delightful street food.

Opening with the Brazilica Carnival Queen competition at PANAM, Albert Dock Liverpool, on Friday, the festival moves up the waterfront on Saturday, with the Pier Head Village’s smells and tastes emanating from its wide array of food stalls sure to get the mouth watering!

With cuisine from across the globe on sale, here’s seven food and drink stalls that are just too good to turn down at the Brazilica Festival Pier Head Village takeover.

1.     Great British Cheese Company

Located near to the stylish Sound City Bar, Great British Cheese Company transports you from the banks of the River Mersey to cheese heaven in just one mouthful.

Grab a slice of moreish Lancaster Bomber or Cheddar with Chilli & Lime cheese and watch the Brazilica Festival unfold in your very own dairy paradise, with a glass of bubbly in hand of course.

2.     Cowfish Smokehouse

Based on the Wirral, Cowfish Smokehouse serves up an abundance of flavours inside each and every one of its American-style burgers.

Cooked to perfection on the grill, Cowfish Smokehouse’s succulent burgers and generous servings of fries and slaw are not only delicious, but also very affordable!

3.     Bold Street Sweets & Gifts

Energy levels need to be high in order to dance the night away at Brazilica Festival… so fuelling up on the pick ‘n’ mix at Bold Street Sweets & Gifts pop-up is a must.

Priced at £1.59 per kilo, the iconic sweet shop’s stall has everything from dolly mix to jelly beans and old school strawberry laces (we also recommend the cookies & cream fudge!).

4.     Crosby Coffee

Serving up the finest blends of coffee at the Pier Head Village, Crosby Coffee is the ideal place to go for a mid-festival pit stop.

With Brazilica Festival renowned for its high energy dancing and late night celebrations, Crosby Coffee’s Guatemalan coffee, containing nuts and spices, is not only delicious and caffeine filled, but also in keeping with the South American theme of the day.

5.     Cracked Pepper Bistro

Famous for its rodizio-style meat feasts, it is no secret that Brazilians are experts when it comes to cooking steak, pork, lamb and chicken.

Roasting its meats to perfection before serving them up in heaped piles of love, Cracked Pepper Carvery is a carnivore’s paradise!

6.     The Chocolate Box

Sat in the heart of the Pier Head Village opposite the Sound City Bar, Skipton Chocolate Box will present festival goers with the chance to taste huge chocolate muffins sprinkled with a range of toppings and chunky tray bakes for just £2!

Marshmallow kebabs and sweet Belgian waffles also come highly recommended.

7.     Matta’s International Foods

Extremely popular for its health-conscious cuisine, Matta’s is nothing short of exceptional. Serving up an extensive range of vegetarian and vegan delights, this food stall is not only great for an afternoon snack, but also ideal for a nutritious family dinner at the Brazilica Festival.

We also recommend a visit to one of the two fantastic bars at Pier Head Village after your food has been demolished.
