MCARTHURGLEN DESIGNER OUTLET CHESHIRE OAKS WAS DELIGHTED TO ANNOUNCE THAT IT HAS RAISED A TOTAL OF £15,000 FOR ITS CHRISTMAS CHARITY PARTNER, CLAIRE HOUSE CHILDREN’S HOSPICE.

About Claire House Children’s Hospice:

Based on the Wirral, Claire House Children’s Hospice helps seriously and terminally ill children by creating wonderfully unforgettable experiences. Throughout the festive period, McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Cheshire Oaks hosted a series of fundraising initiatives to support the local charity, including in-store donation boxes, choir performances at the centre in the run up to Christmas and collecting a recommended donation of £1 from each visitor to the centre’s walk-in artificial Christmas tree, which is the largest in Europe. Upon entering the tree, shoppers were treated to a magical experience, as the interior was brought to life with over five miles of illuminations and festive Christmas scene including a giant sleigh for family photos

In collaboration with the local charity, McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Cheshire Oaks also invited a local family from Claire House Children’s Hospice to turn on the 100ft Christmas tree’s lights. The McIntyre family from Anfield, whose six-year-old son Charlie was diagnosed with Lissencephaly (a rare brain formation disorder) when he was four months old and now requires 24-hour care, were treated to a fun filled day at the centre, including: dinner at Giraffe; an exclusive trip to Charlie’s favourite store, Build-A-Bear; a visit to Santa’s grotto and gifts to take home.

Kenny Murray, Centre Manager at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Cheshire Oaks, commented: “We are thrilled to have helped fundraise £15,000 for Claire House Children’s Hospice. It puts a big smile on everyone’s face when we can support the local community, especially the young and vulnerable suffering with life-threatening and limiting conditions. Our traditional and now iconic Christmas tree is always a real draw for the local community. To date we have raised over £40,000 for a variety of charities.”
