Constellations cosmic party

ONE OF LIVERPOOL’S PREMIER MUSIC AND EVENTS SPACES WILL HOST A GARDEN PARTY OF COSMIC PROPORTIONS TO RAISE MONEY FOR LOCAL CHARITY NORTH WEST CANCER RESEARCH.

Constellations, will host the ‘Cosmic Jam’ on Saturday 22nd April bringing together a stellar line up of live music and DJs all in one glorious garden setting to raise funds for life-saving cancer research projects in Liverpool.

Starting from midday, the line-up of local talent includes No Fakin’, Mr Jonze, Pooky, Danny Fitzgerald, Autocycle, Radio Exotica, The Mixnots, Elliot Hutchinson and Andy James – a veritable mix of Funk, Soul, Jazz, Latin, Boogaloo and Hip Hop wax.

North West Cancer Research will also be on hand to provide some fun family friendly activities, alongside specials guests from Science Grrl who will showcase the magic of science to adults and children alike.

Constellations will serve up tasty street food, including Cuban dishes from Liverpool’s hottest new food offering FINCA. For adults only, a one-off cocktail – Constellations Cosmic Smash – has been created and £1 from every drink sold will be donated to North West Cancer Research.

Suggested donation for entry on the door is £2.50, but event goers are encouraged to dig deep and children under 12 can get in for free.

All money raised will go to North West Cancer Research which has committed to funding £11million worth of life-saving cancer research over the next five years – including projects based at the University of Liverpool.

Bobby Magee, fundraising manager North West Cancer Research, said: “We can’t promise that it’s going to be sunny, but we can promise an afternoon of great music, good food and brilliant atmosphere – all for a good cause.

“Thanks to the guys at Constellations, Andy James whose helped organise this whole thing, our super talented musicians and the awesome Science Grrrls, who are all giving up their time to make the Cosmic Jam happen.”

The Cosmic Jam is billed as the perfect precursor to the return of living legend Derek Carter, the Chicago native DJ to Liverpool as part of the Liverpool Dance Festival celebrations. He’ll be playing from 10pm the same day at Constellations warehouse event space.

Cosmic Jam revellers can buy tickets for Derek Carter’s set on the day at a reduced price of £5 – just ask the bar staff and sales team for more details on the day.

Cosmic Jam will take place on Saturday April 22nd at Constellations (35-39 Greenland Street) from midday till late. More information can be found at www.nwcr.org or by contacting bobby@nwcr.org.
