Delifonseca Dockside is inviting diners to celebrate the love of good food over the Valentine’s period as it hosts its own weekend for food lovers. Not just for couples, all foodie fans can expect a welcome drink on arrival before tucking into a selection of heart-warming dishes from Thursday 14th to Saturday 16th February.

For those who prefer to spend the evening at home, Delifonseca will also be offering ‘Valentine’s at Home’ whereby guests can take away a chef prepared three-course feast.

Proprietor of Delifonseca, Candice Fonseca, said: “Although Valentine’s Day is perceived by some as the most romantic night of the year for just as many, it is not.  We don’t want our menu to be confined to just couples, which is why our celebrations will revolve around the love of food. With this in mind, we’ve created a weekend-long event whereby friends, families and love-birds alike are all welcome to join us in our Dockside restaurant to enjoy a specially created indulgent menu.”

Diners will be greeted with a Bellini or Berry Sweetheart Mocktail and canapés before enjoying starters such as Moules Mariniére or a shared Baked Heart Shaped Neufchatel Cheese. Main course choices include; Lamb Rump with Parsnip Puree, Rainbow Carrots, Parsnip Crisp, Kale and a Caper Jus; Spinach & Tomato Gnocchi with Charred Leek, Squash and Whipped Goat’s Cheese; Hake with Brown Butter Artichoke, Radicchio and Blood Orange Dressing or a shared Fillet of Beef with Ox Cheek Croquettes and Red Wine Reduction. To conclude, sharing is compulsory with a delicious dessert platter.

Candice added: “If going out on Valentine’s Day isn’t your style, beat the crowds and cosy up on the sofa with our ‘Valentine’s at Home’ menu, courtesy of our team of Delifonseca chefs. We’ll do all the hard work and prepare a three-course, mouth-watering meal that you can enjoy in a private setting to really impress your other half. It’s something that we’ve been doing for years and for some couples it’s become an annual tradition.

“If that’s not enough, we’ve also got you covered when it comes to choosing the perfect Valentine’s gift in the Food Hall. Whether it’s a luxury box of chocolates from the likes of Prestat, Montezuma or Bodrato or a unique ‘Say it with Roses’ gin hamper, which features a bottle of Three Graces Rose Gin, branded glasses, rose buds and mixers, we have it all. Sticking with the ever-popular gin theme, the colour changing Old Curiosity Gins are also set to go down a treat.”

This special menu is available from Thursday 14th to Saturday 16th February at £45 per person. Diners booking between 5pm and 6pm will enjoy a complimentary bottle of fizz per couple.

Delifonseca’s ‘Valentine’s at Home’ menu includes a sharing starter and dessert platter and a choice of mains with full instructions provided and can be ordered online.
