A FEW WEEKS AGO, HIS & HERS DISCOVERED ESSENTIAL LIVERPOOL, A SITE FEATURING INFORMATION AND DEALS TO HELP LOCALS AND VISITORS ALIKE TO GET THE MOST OUT OF THE CITY.
Unlike a lot of city guides, which tend to cater primarily to tourists, Essential Liverpool features such a large volume of businesses and offers (we lost count after a while!) that even if you’ve been living in or near the city for years, we’d still recommend it to get you out of a date night rut. Or to inspire you to be a tourist in your own city for a day with their Things to Do page. And fear not, if these kind of pages tend to make you feel guilty for not being a culture vulture, this one’s reassuringly down to earth!
As an added bonus, the site’s free to businesses and the public, as Dean and Georgina Currall, who launched the website, are independent business-people themselves and wanted to support others in the same boat. So if you’re a business owner and you’re not already listed, we’d suggest sending them a tempting offer or two!
Speaking of which, their offers page is regularly updated and although it doesn’t just feature restaurants, we’re already smitten with it for making dining out at some of the city’s fanciest restaurants almost as affordable as eating in. It’s also worth keeping an eye on if you’d like to treat someone special to an experience, such as a spa day or dinner and a show, this Christmas, but don’t want to break the bank.
Also, the events page is worth bookmarking, as it features all of the usual big events, but also smaller events run by independent businesses. Plus, it’s always nice to have the vaguely smug sensation that you’re ever so well informed about what’s going on in the city!
Unlike most events pages, you’ll find a broad range of information on this page – from your local pub quizzes, open mic nights and wine tastings to what’s going on at the Echo Arena. And it’s not just about food, drink and music. You’ll also find hair, beauty, fashion, sports and lifestyle covered on the site.
It’s Liverpool’s hub for all the events and businesses the city has to offer and is ideal for anyone to use, from families and local business-people to tourists, stags, hens, students and retirees.
Essentially, what we wanted to say is that if you’re going to cheat on us with a few other websites, we’d highly recommend making Essential Liverpool one of them. All we ask is that you leave a few of the restaurant offers for us!
