The Passeig Marítim of La Barceloneta

If you like long walks near the beach, you’ll love walking over the Passeig Marítim of La Barceloneta. This promenade connects the city with the sea, and La Barceloneta with the Vila Olímpica. It’s the perfect place to take a dip in the Mediterranean water, sunbathe, or practice sports like surfing.

For fans of contemporary art, Barcelona has one of the best museums in the country. The MACBA plays home to the works of local and national artists but also international creators. It contains artistic highlights from the material abstraction of the fifties, European pop art, the vanguards of the sixties and seventies, anti-minimalist sculpture of the eighties, right through to the new trends of today. The museum square is also a great place for skaters, so if that’s your thing, why not put on your skates and prepare to have some fun!

A good way to enjoy the city is to experience its gastronomic highlights. There are many bars and restaurants with very pleasant terraces where you can relax while sipping a few beers, some tapas or the speciality dishes. In the middle of the urban centre or by the sea, you can choose your favourite place to have a drink and enjoy the views. And if you want to get an overview of Barcelona, why not take the opportunity to ride the tourist bus; it’ll be fun and will give you a chance to see a little bit of everything, without spending a lot of money.
