THE NEW SMUDGE BOUTIQUE FLAGSHIP STORE AT THE METQUARTER IN LIVERPOOL CITY CENTRE LAUNCHED ON THURSDAY 27TH APRIL FROM 6PM UNTIL 9PM.

AFTER THE SUCCESS OF ITS POP-UP SHOP IN THE SAME CENTRE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, OWNERS OF SMUDGE BOUTIQUE, ALISON DUNN AND LAUREN CASEY, DECIDED TO MAKE IT A PERMANENT HOME FOR THE BRAND.

Definitely a great idea if the stats are anything to go by: according to research by The Liverpool BID, footfall in Liverpool for the year to date is up 6.9% on last year, with over one million visitors counted for the first week in April!

With champagne on arrival and girly house tunes being pumped out by DJ Mark Armstrong, the mood at the launch was electric from the very start.

During the evening, canapés were served, as guests networked with industry specialists.

Fashion Highlights: Smudge Boutique:

The main event, the live Spring/Summer 2017 Fashion Show, did not disappoint.

A whole range of outfits were showcased: from floral prints and crisp white angles, to burnt orange tassels and ruffles galore!

Attendees of the launch party were offered a 20 per cent discount on everything in store, but only for the duration of the event – I’m surprised they had any stock left by the end of the night!

Exclusive lines were on display throughout the night, and a styling presentation from one of the store’s owners, Lauren Casey, was met with eager eyes and ears.

Styling consultations with the top creatives at Lavish Alice were an absolute treat, with Emma Jordan and Eileen Dunn talking us through three outfits, which of course included their signature cape-blazer. They tipped stripes to be huge throughout summer, and pointed out that their white and blue deconstructed pinstripe shirt ticks two style must-haves for this season.

Everyone went away with a goodie bag, a bespoke Smudge Boutique cupcake and a big smile.
