Liverpool had a lot to celebrate this weekend. Not only was it a Bank Holiday, but Flight Club—the eagerly anticipated social darts and cocktail bar—officially opened its doors.
Flight Club kicked off its opening weekend in style with a live roaming saxophonist and singer to provide the ultimate summer soundtrack, guaranteed to keep everyone dancing all weekend.
Located at Liverpool ONE, overlooking Chavasse Park, Flight Club Liverpool is set over two floors that are jam-packed with frivolity and nostalgic charm. Combining the fun of the fairground with the warmth of a traditional British pub, this new Liverpool hotspot promises a one-of-a-kind experience. The venue has two stunning bars, a ground-floor outdoor terrace and first-floor balcony overlooking the park, 16 semi-private oche areas and a mezzanine space overlooking all the action in the bar below. And there is space for up to 400 people – plenty of room to get a serious party going.
Liverpudlians can expect a high-energy atmosphere, a menu of gorgeous cocktails, sharing dishes, DJ sets, and banging bottomless brunch sessions, all served with a side of what Flight Club calls Social Darts. It’s darts, but not as you know it – reimagined for the 21st century. Offering something for everyone, this bar is THE must-visit spot for an unforgettable time.
The Game: What is Social Darts?
Flight Club has given darts a serious makeover with interactive, immersive games and tech that automatically scores by tracking every dart thrown with super-smart camera technology. Said cameras also throw out live-action replays on screen throughout the game and later deliver them straight to players’ inboxes to relive all the action (and, of course, partake in some social media bragging!).
Social Darts is made for group get-togethers. Twelve people can play at one oche, and for bigger groups of up to 350, multiple oches can be connected for an epic Social Darts showdown – the perfect option for team socials and Christmas parties.
There are six fun and fast-paced games to choose from, suitable for anyone to play. Whether a darts sniper or a total beginner, everyone has a chance to win.
The food and drink: Sharing dishes and spectacular cocktails
The food menu at Flight Club includes crowd-pleasing dishes ideal for sharing and eating mid-throw. Sourdough pizza paddles, juicy burgers and loaded fries are just some of the treats on offer.
Cocktail lovers are well catered for, too, with plenty of options to choose from, including signature cocktails, classics with a twist, cocktail slushies – perfect for balmy summer evenings – and sharing trophy cocktails served in a show-stopping trophy cup – the best way to toast the Social Darts champions.
Also on offer is a bottomless brunch of dreams. Plenty of booze, great food, and an epic time are guaranteed. Tickets for the two-hour brunch session cost £35pp and include 60 minutes of gameplay at the oche, a bottle of prosecco per person and unlimited pizza throughout.
The setting: Fairground nostalgia and British eccentricity
The presence of darts at Flight Club shouldn’t fool anyone into thinking they will be walking into an old, dark and dingy boozer. Quite the opposite in fact. This spectacular bar is a vibe on a whole new level. Think fairground-style lights blinking in time to the music, a carousel horse, a disco phone booth and antique treasures and trinkets everywhere you turn.
Designed by Flight Club’s award-winning in-house interior design team, highlights include a huge ground-floor bar complete with a wavy fairground lighting canopy that wraps around the building’s supporting columns, for drama and impact. A mix of grey concrete effect walls, brick slips, wood panelling and a variety of wallpaper prints add a cosy feel to the bar’s different spaces. Liverpudlians should keep their eyes peeled on the mezzanine, where the walls are dressed with a cheeky wallpaper that can be activated with an app to reveal some interesting moving images.
Up the staircase to the first floor, walls are adorned with grandfather clocks and other clocks of varying sizes, and Victorian-style paintings, etchings and murals with local influences can be found throughout. There is something new to be discovered at every visit.
Steve Moore, CEO and co-founder of Flight Club, said: “For years we’ve been eyeing up Liverpool as the perfect place for Flight Club. There’s nothing we love more than an epic night out and that’s something both Liverpool and Flight Club always deliver on, so it feels like a match made in heaven. This new venue has been months in the making to get every detail just right. We’re so excited that the time has finally come for us to welcome the people of Liverpool inside and we can’t wait to kick off the party,” said Moore.
Rob Deacon, Director of Asset Management at Grosvenor, said: “The opening of Flight Club has been hotly anticipated since we announced its signing last year, and the new space more than delivers the high calibre and immense scale of concept that has become synonymous with Liverpool ONE. It is no surprise that Liverpool has been named the UK’s most sociable city, and the addition of Flight Club to our leading entertainment line-up only adds to that.”
