Admittedly, the sun might not be shining at His & Hers right now. However, as we head into British summertime (no matter how drizzly), our minds still turn to staying safe in the sun.

So when friend of the magazine, Dave the Pap, told us about an event held by Glam & Glow at the Vaults on Cook Street earlier this week to raise funds to help tackle melanoma and also raise awareness about protecting your skin from UV damage, we were keen to help spread the word.

About Glam & Glow: Glam & Glow is a collaboration between The Glambassadors Resortwear and Star Luxury Tanning, and came about to help promote skin confidence and skin safety in aid of skin cancer charity Melanoma UK.

About the event: Both brands decided to join forces to make this week’s event fun but memorable, with a resortwear catwalk showcasing some unseen pieces of The Glambassadors new SS19 collection, and Star Luxury Tanning’s brand new tanning range on all 10 models and co-hosts. This helped to keep the event fun and lighthearted, but guest speaker Angelica Fenny, a diversity model and representative and also multi-cancer survivor, added a more serious note to proceedings. Her message was heart wrenching but clear and inspiring at the same time, keeping the focus on raising awareness about preventing and treating skin cancer.

The event organisers said: “Angelica Fenny is such an amazing woman, and it was such an honour to have her come and support our very first local event in Liverpool! All in all it was an amazing, empowering event and proceeds were made for the charity. Winner!”
They added: “We plan to take Glam & Glow around Britain each month for the rest of the year with six cities already in the pipeline… next stop: London!”
