OUR KITCHEN HAD ME HOOKED WHEN I SPOTTED THE ‘SEA POWER BREAKFAST’. IT CONSISTS OF: SMOKED SALMON, AVOCADO, POACHED EGG, STEAMED SPINACH, SMOKED PAPRIKA ALMONDS, AND A DRESSING THAT PACKS A PUNCH. THIS IS HEAVEN ON A PLATE.

The invitation was irresistible. Do some Christmas shopping, and celebrate with a leisurely lunch at Our Kitchen, which is a très chic bistro. It was decked with giant lighted Christmas stars, and featured a clever lighting scheme, which provoked some more shopping once we got home (online this time) for some industrial sconce lighting to recreate the look.
The staff welcomed us with a warm smile and we sat in the window, where we could people watch, whilst we checked out the menu. The restaurant was buzzing: it was attracting a large passing trade. The menu caters for most tastes: there are small plates, and more substantial offerings. It caters for vegetarians and vegans, but I noticed there were meat options too.
My companions chose mac & cheese, and vegetarian lasagne. I opted for Niçoise salad, which was delicious: flakes of tuna with a stunningly good dressing, quail egg, boquerón fillets, and black olives. Perfect for lunch. The vegetarian lasagne is a more substantial meal that comes with Mediterranean vegetables, fresh Italian herbs, smoked garlic, mozzarella and béchamel sauce. This all went down very well indeed. The mac & cheese is a tasty winter warmer.
Our Kitchen is a really stylish space. The food is both delicious and a healthy choice. It is a refuge from the mayhem of city living, and a haven for those who venture in to do some Christmas shopping or want to bag some New Year bargains. Our Kitchen will revive your spirits, and it won’t break the piggy bank. The service is excellent, and the atmosphere is totally relaxing. It will make you see shopping in a whole new light.
