ON FRIDAY 3RD JUNE, THE WEIGH-IN FOR LIAM SMITH’S WBO WORLD SUPER-WELTERWEIGHT DEFENCE AGAINST PREDRAG RADOSEVIC WILL TAKE PLACE AT SHOOTERS SPORTS BAR WITHIN THE BIERKELLER ENTERTAINMENT COMPLEX, LIVERPOOL ONE.
The event, which will begin at 1pm and last for around two hours, will see fans and press gather for the weigh-in of ten boxing matches.
Mark Hansen, General Manager of Bierkeller Entertainment Complex commented: “It is very exciting for us to host the weigh-ins in our Shooters Sports Bar”.
The weigh-in will mark a heroic homecoming for Liam Smith, who is set to defend his WBO World Super-Welterweight title for the second time against Montenegro’s Pedrag Radosevic, who ranks number 11 with the World Boxing Organisation and holds the body’s European title.
Liam Smith became Liverpool’s first World Champion in 22 years when he triumphed against American John Thompson in October 2015. This eagerly-anticipated showdown will be a memorable occasion for Liam Smith, who will be fighting in his home city where fans are ardent in their support of the renowned boxer. Liam Smith commented: “I am looking forward to fighting in Liverpool again, in front of a home crowd. This is a great fight for me”.
Also weighing in at Shooters Sports Bar will be Paul Butler who is set to defend his WBO International Super-Flyweight title in a final eliminator for the world title, Zolani Tete defending his IBF International Bantamweight title, Jazza Dickens challenging Abigail Medina for the EBU European Super-Bantamweight Championship, Ryan Farrag defending his EBU European Bantamweight title against Karim Guerfi, Tom Stalker challenging for the WBO European Lightweight Championship and Liam Williams, Josh Leather, Steven Lewis and Declan Geraghty all featuring on the undercard.
The weigh-in at Shooters Sports Bar within the Bierkeller Entertainment Complex comes the day before Liam Smith’s defence of his title, with the boxing match set to take place at the Echo Arena on Saturday 4th June.
