Shoppers will also be able to meet the shopping park’s new addition on Friday 20th October –  its very own Liver Bird.  Thought to be the world’s largest Liver Bird standing at 11m tall, the bird is made of fabricated Meccano in a nod to the site’s history as home of the first Meccano factory and will make the perfect backdrop for shopper-selfies.

Russell Hall, general manager of Liverpool Shopping Park said: “It’s wonderful to see the site transform from a construction site into a shopping park and we’re delighted that the first retailers are really celebrating with their customers.  Friday’s openings are just the beginning for Liverpool Shopping Park, with many more store openings from big brand names planned for the coming months.

“There’s some fabulous opportunities for shoppers to win big, including our ‘Win a £500 shopping spree’ competition which we’re running across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and our website.  We’re expecting a fantastic turn-out on Friday and look forward to welcoming our first customers.”

Work is already underway on the next phase of Liverpool Shopping Park, which will see additional units built to house Hollywood Bowl, a multi-screen cinema and a whole host of food and beverage operators.

Liverpool Shopping Park is set to be the UK’s largest shopping park once complete with 727,000 sq ft of retail space and parking for 1500 cars.
