NORTH-WEST JEWELLERY RETAILER, MOCOCO, MARKED A DECADE IN BUSINESS BY WINNING RETAILER OF THE YEAR AT THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATIONS OF JEWELLERS AWARDS IN BIRMINGHAM.

The National Association of Jewellers (NAJ) was formed in 2015 through the unification of the British Jewellers’ Association (BJA) and National Association of Goldsmiths (N.A.G) and represents over 2,000 members whose businesses operate in every aspect of the jewellery industry.  Mococo were up against five leading jewelers for the award which included Beaverbooks, Boodles, F Hinds and the Aurum Group.

Mococo have had a fantastic a year of successes as they also won Branded Retailer of the Year in the Retail Jeweller Inspiring Independents awards in September of this year.

Managing director and founder of Mococo, Maureen Hooson said; “For a small business which started with jewellery parties in my front room to becoming a successful company and win such a prestigious award in the NAJ’s is such an honour. To get here today, 10 years later, looking around at our beautiful stores, incredible team and most importantly, our loyal and valued customers, it really is a very emotional day for our family-run business.”

Mococo have also ran a £10,000 giveaway this year to help celebrate their 10 years in business. Over 21,000 entrants participated in the prize draw through My Mococo – the independent and family-run retailer’s loyalty scheme. Six finalists were invited to a special announcement event held at the brand’s flagship Chester store on September 3, 2016.

Five shoppers were each announced as runners-up, receiving a £1,000 gift card to spend in store. Sandra Lewis, 51, from Chester, was hand-picked from entries to the prize draw as the overall winner. Sandra received £5,000 to spend on luxury jewellery from affordable designer brands including Pandora, ChloBo, Thomas Sabo, Clogau, Swarovski, Michael Kors, Shaun Leane alongside Mococo’ s own collection of unique jewellery designed by Mococo founder Maureen Hooson.

Mococo have also celebrated a brand new store opens in Golden Square Shopping Centre in Warrington, adding to the portfolio of six existing Mococo stores across the North West and online store at mococo.co.uk
