REGULAR READERS MAY HAVE SPOTTED THAT WE TEND TO STALK POTENTIAL NEW PLACES TO SHOP IN THE NORTH WEST A TAD OBSESSIVELY.

So when we heard today that leading global athletic footwear and apparel retailer, Footlocker, has just opened a flagship store on Liverpool ONE’s South John Street, we were intrigued.

The new Liverpool ONE outlet will be one of the largest Footlocker stores found globally.

Footlocker is the latest in a series of sportswear and footwear brands to select Liverpool ONE for significant stores, with JD Sports opening a flagship store on Paradise Street in December last year as well as Superdry and Seven Liverpool, joining the retail and leisure destination in the last 12 months.

The news comes as Liverpool ONE celebrated its best-ever year in 2017 with record sales performance, up 3% compared to 2016, and footfall exceeding 29 million for the first time.

Alison Clegg, Director, Asset Management at Grosvenor Europe, said: “Securing Footlocker is a reflection of our strategy to provide visitors with a highly compelling offer that isn’t available elsewhere.  Along with the new HMV, the new stores will provide on-trend, exciting offers that further strengthen Liverpool ONE’s great mix of brands.”

“An increasing number of retailers including Footlocker, JD Sports, and Nespresso have launched new stores concepts in Liverpool ONE, an endorsement of their performance and confidence.”

To accommodate the move, HMV has relocated to a new store on South John Street, next to All Saints and Simply Be.

The new store, which opened Saturday 20 January, features an extensive area dedicated to vinyl.
