THE HIS & HERS TEAM LOVES A GOOD EXCUSE TO DRESS UP, SIP A GLASS OR TWO OF CHAMPAGNE AND GET DOWN TO SOME SERIOUS PEOPLE WATCHING, MAKING LADIES DAY AT ROYAL ASCOT ONE OF OUR HIGHLIGHTS OF THE SEASON.

Often referred to as ‘the world’s most glamorous race day’, Ladies Day will be taking place on Thursday 22nd June, and would-be racegoers who are attempting to book tickets via the Royal Ascot website are already being warned that: “Tickets are available for all five days of The Royal Meeting but we anticipate that Thursday, Friday and Saturday will sell out several weeks before the event so we recommend that you book soon. Windsor Enclosure on Saturday 24th has now sold out.”

For those lucky enough to book in time, tickets for the Windsor Enclosure cost £46, tickets for the Village Enclosure cost £67 and tickets for the Queen Anne Enclosure cost £88.

Upgrades, such as booking an Afternoon Tea (which costs £35 per person) immediately caught the His & Hers team’s eye, as we’re firm believers that there are very few occasions that can’t be made even better with the addition of tea and cake.

However, even if you won’t be making a day of it at Royal Ascot, there’s no reason to miss out on all the fun. You’ll find Royal Ascot Festival 2017 full coverage at William Hill, meaning that even if you’re sunning yourself somewhere envy-inducing on 22nd June, you can still have a flutter on your ‘phone from the comfort of your sun lounger.

In fact, even if you are planning on attending the races, you may want to, ahem, hedge your bets and pick out a few likely winners online in advance, leaving you free to enjoy the races at your leisure with no queuing to place your bets to worry about on the day.

With more than £6.58million in prize money, Royal Ascot is one of the world’s best-known and most highly revered race meetings, attracting the Queen (a dedicated racecourse owner, who has attended every Royal Meeting during her reign). Other royals and a host of celebrities are also sure to make an appearance.

The races on Ladies Day are:

The Norfolk Stakes (Group 2, from 2.30pm) over five furlongs.

The Hampton Court Stakes (Group 3) at 3.05pm.

At 3.40pm, The Ribbelsdale Stakes (Group 2) is contested before the historic Gold Cup (Group 1) 40 minutes later, over two and a half miles. The prize fund is £400,000.
