REVIEW FEATURE: HIS & HERS HAD ATTENDED THE GLITTERING NORTHERN DESIGN AWARDS IN CENTRAL MANCHESTER. I APPRECIATED THE OPPORTUNITY TO STAY OVERNIGHT AT A DISTINCTIVE HOTEL, MINUTES AWAY FROM MANCHESTER AIRPORT. IT WAS INSPIRING TO SEE GREAT ARCHITECTURE, INTERIORS, AND LANDSCAPING DESIGN DURING THE NDA AWARDS EVENING. BUT THE EVENING WAS NOT QUITE OVER.

The Etrop Grange Review:
Etrop Grange is part of the Squire group. It has a history that harks back to the 18th Century. A classic exterior, yet the amenities inside are very much 21st century. I arrived late, and was warmly welcomed by the Night Manager. The suite I occupied was ridiculously spacious and I immediately felt at home. I might have penned a historical romance, at the antique writing desk, had I but the time. It did occur to me that I could happily live in this space. The four poster bed was probably the most comfortable I have ever slept in. There are views of trees and greenery in the garden space. There is a link road, nearly completed, that connects directly with the Airport.
This Victorian hotel is elegant and distinctive. Most of all it was a relaxing experience. Breakfast starts early and again it was a warm welcome. Seated by a radiator, I had time to enjoy a pot of coffee whilst I considered all the options. The view was leafy and charming. My choice: Eggs Benedict, was beautifully presented, and tasted wonderful. Egg whites firm, yolks slightly runny with an awesome Hollandaise sauce.
I was sorry to leave, but life beckoned. There is a free shuttle service to Manchester Airport that runs during part of the day. Expecting a slight delay, I checked out. The driver immediately picked up my bag and off we went. I could not fault it if I tried. There are Christmas events and packages. Check it out and check in and relax into Christmas.
