AT HIS & HERS, WE LOVE PIZZA. THAT IS AN ABSOLUTE. SANTA MALUCO IS A PIZZA RESTAURANT WHERE YOU CAN INDULGE IN YOUR FAVOURITE TOPPINGS UNTIL THE EARLY HOURS. THE INTRODUCTION OF VEGAN MONDAYS JUST ADDS ANOTHER TANTALIZING LAYER TO THE MIX.
Words: Jean Hill
Santa Maluco is just one of six restaurant and bar venues owned by Graffiti Spirits Group. It opened in 2016 and has become a firm favourite with foodies. It is a great venue for speedy work lunches, family get togethers and indulgent dinners with friends over cocktails. The giant wood fired pizza oven dominates the space.
Rodizio style means guests pay a fixed price for unlimited pizza: £15.99 after 4 pm. Guests can sample flavoursome pizzas and choose from inventive cocktails, spirits or wine. There were already healthy salads in the mix; Waldorf being my favourite. A Vegan menu totally makes sense. I remember that Paul and Mary McCartney suggested meat free Mondays, and this would seem the ideal, fun way to do it. It is great for Vegans, and well worth investigating.
There was a real buzz in the restaurant. It feels warm and welcoming. We were able to try a slice of most of the Vegan options. I think we agreed that the Falaffin packed in the most flavour, with a lovely smoky after-taste. It comprises: mozzarella, tomato base, falafel, tomato, cucumber, tahini and walnuts. I think the Buffalo Solider was a close second: cauliflower (hot and spicy), tomato base, mozzarella, blue cheese and celery. Lo Pan introduces curry sauce and chillis into the mix. You can click on ‘full up’ when you have had your fill. We love the concept, and we loved all the different options. Michelle looked after us, beautifully. Try it, it might cheer your Mondays wonderfully. Also check out some great Christmas deals.
