‘FOOD IS MUSIC TO THE BODY, MUSIC IS FOOD TO THE HEART’– LOCAL FESTIVAL SOUND CITY TAKES CENTRE STAGE AT FONSECA’S
Fonseca’s Stanley Street is set to celebrate Sound City at its monthly wine night on May 26, paying homage to Liverpool’s reputation for award winning music and food.
In a slight deviation from its usual format where its wines are the main feature, this special night will feature dishes that showcase Sound City’s headline acts with each perfectly matched with delicious beverages from Fonseca’s portfolio.
General Manager of Fonseca’s Danielle Youds said: “Fonseca’s relishes this opportunity to really go rock and roll! Liverpool has always enjoyed a rich musical heritage and we are keen to celebrate it. We find that great music, wonderful wine and outstanding foods are perfect partners.”
The evening kicks off with an Amuse Bouche of “Hot Chip” – Crispy Polenta Chips with Basil Pesto. To honour this London band, the dish is paired with staff favourite, Portobello Road No 171 Gin and glorious Fentimans Tonic.
The starter course sees guests enjoy “The Coral” – Crab & Coral Roe Salad with a stunning glass of award winning English, New Hall Bacchus (Essex), proving that all of the best talent is indeed from within the British Isles. To follow, a tapas main course of “Catfish and the Bottlemen” – Catfish Piccata with Spinach Fettucini – honours the headline act, while the accompanying Petit Syrah from the Californian “Wines That Rock” range is a fitting tribute to this local rock band.
The encore of the evening is a “Palma Violets” dessert, comprising Sparkling Aviation Jelly matched with an English Limoncello courtesy of Suffolk based producer, Adnams.
Danielle added: “Sound City is synonymous with nurturing and showcasing local talent, which is an ethos we have always employed at Delifonseca. It’s a fantastic contribution to Liverpool’s calendar of events and we’re delighted to find the opportunity to highlight the synergy between our offerings. In addition to our wine evening, we will also be offering all wristband holders a discount at Fonseca’s for the festival weekend.”
The Sound City inspired Wine Evening will take place at Fonseca’s Stanley Street on Thursday, May 26 from 7:30pm and is priced at £29.95 per person. Booking is essential. A non-refundable £10 deposit required.
