SCOTTISH BALLET’S BREATH-TAKING PRODUCTION OF SWAN LAKE IS TO ENCHANT A WHOLE NEW GENERATION WITH AN IMAGINATIVE RE-TELLING OF THE TIMELESS TALE.
This awe-inspiring production of Swan Lake is at the Liverpool Empire from 1st to 4th June 2016. This modern version swaps tutus and curses for a sultry, passionate love story.
Swan Lake portrays the love story of Siegfried and the beautiful swan queen Odette. As fate has it, Siegfried betrays Odette as he mistakenly declares his love for Odile, the dark seductress. Eventually Odette forgives Siegfried, but the trust between them has been broken and Siegfried is forced to face life without her forever.
Choreographed by the award-winning British dance maker David Dawson, Swan Lake will demonstrate his visceral and daring work which has made him one of the most innovative dance makers working in classical ballet today.
With contemporary sets, ethereal costumes, and Tchaikovsky’s iconic score performed by the Scottish Ballet Orchestra, don’t miss the Company’s first ever performance in Liverpool.
