If you’re a talented designer, today (6th October) is your last chance to enter this year’s Northern Design Awards, which will take place at Chester Cathedral.
The Northern Design Awards (which were held at Liverpool’s Titanic Hotel last year) were founded to put northern design talent on the map. The awards have been held annually for 21 years, attracting entries from the best and brightest in the business, and a heavyweight judging panel.
Event Director Shelley Mears said: “We’re excited to raise a glass to 21 years of the Northern Design Awards at Chester Cathedral this year. It’s a stunning location and we’re delighted to celebrate the 21st anniversary of these annual awards. However, the stars of the show are, of course, the enormously talented nominees.”
The awards ceremony will take place on 16th November (with tickets due to go on sale over the coming days).
For any up-and-coming designers who are tempted to enter, but don’t quite have the confidence, Shelley had a few words of encouragement, saying: “Previous winners have mentioned getting more business from existing clients, and finding it easier to gain new customers, too. It’s not just winners – many finalists tell us that just taking part has been beneficial for them also. Entering awards as a team boosts morale, increases output and builds confidence. it’s a win-win, whether you win or not.”
The judging panel features interior design expert and TV presenter, George Bond, former BIID President, Susie Rumbold, Director of the BIID, Fiona Watkins, alongside other leading names in design including: Beverley Spyer Holmes, Nick Munro, Ali Munro, Adam White, Jason Boyle, Alan West and Ray Watkin.
Having helped many of the region’s most talented designers to make a name for themselves, The Northern Design Awards attract the crème de la crème of the design world as well as high-profile sponsors, including Trombe, The Cheshire Magazine and The Interior Design Business.
