Happily, it turned out to be a badly kept secret. His & Hers was there at the launch of Goodness Gracious, 8th Floor, West Africa House, 25 Water Street, above Oh Me Oh My. The roof garden will open for spring and summer, seven days a week, from 12noon-7pm. It is a sky high haven.
Goodness Gracious has been nominated for ‘Small Tourist Attraction of the year’ at the Tourist Awards. It is easy to see why. This venue boasts panoramic, iconic views of the Liverpool waterfront in a garden setting. Rolling soulful sunsets, cocktails and live DJ sets stir up the senses.
If the weather is unkind festivities can continue downstairs in Oh Me Oh My. The roof garden will host weekly Goodness Gracious it’s Friday nights and weekly yoga classes. Please sign us up for those sessions.
A sneak preview of the new food & drinks menu uncovers some cocktail classics with original twists. Soak up the atmosphere with a vodka drenched watermelon wedge. Set free your sophisticated self with Smokey Mezcal, agave, pineapple and coconut cream served in a pineapple cup.
My own personal favourite, Twinkle Twinkle, packs a powerful punch and tastes delicious. Vodka, elderflower, cucumber, pea shoots, and Prosecco, all combine to provide that extra twinkle. We found the G & T concoction irresistible with gin, aromatic tonic, strawberries, mint and cucumber. Craft beer, wine and soft-drinks are included on the menu. That would be in case you need any more options
Summer specials include hog roast buns with sea salt crackling and Granny Smiths sauce. It is a treat for the taste buds, with a potent aftertaste from the crackling. A veggie option uses pulled jackfruit. Imagine blue skies, a gentle breeze, and tall ships on the horizon. Stretch for soft serve ice cream and a pot of strawberries with cream and basil sugar. There is lift service to this magical, romantic hideaway. Forthcoming events include a wedding open evening 5th April. Hard to resist a ‘secret’ session roast on Sunday 8th April. A cocktail masterclass beckons on Friday 20th April. Brunch on Saturday 14th April, promises to be a pre-race appetizer. We intend paying another visit very soon.
