A talented young performer from West Kirby is set to dazzle audiences across the UK and Europe as a dancer in the award-winning production Totally Tina. Liverpool Theatre School graduate, Georgia Amery (23), was invited to join the cast after impressing the panel during auditions for the smash-hit show, which brings together the best of Tina Turner’s iconic performances.
Georgia, who has been dancing since she was three years old, attended Hilbre High School before training to become a professional performer at Liverpool Theatre School. As one of the incredible dancers in Totally Tina, she will perform alongside Tina’s award winning tribute, Justine Riddoch, as the show brings audiences to their feet with anthems such as River Deep, Mountain High; Proud Mary; Nutbush City Limits and Simply The Best.
Speaking on landing a role in the highly acclaimed show, the Liverpool Theatre School graduate said: “Totally Tina is the most authentic recreation of a Tina Turner concert you will experience and I feel so lucky to be part of it. Having the opportunity to perform to sell-out crowds, doing what I love and paying tribute to the legend herself is just incredible.
“Dancers always played such a huge role in the rock ‘n’ roll queen’s live concerts and I perform during most of the numbers in the show. Totally Tina is a phenomenal show and it’s been great fun getting to grips with the dance routines. Training at Liverpool Theatre School has really helped me to prepare for the show and it’s most definitely given me the confidence to be the best version of myself on stage. I’m so excited about touring across the UK and Europe with such a remarkable group of performers.”
Liverpool Theatre School Principal, Maxine Ellis, said: “Georgia is an exceptionally talented dancer and I’m sure she will bring her own unique sparkle to Totally Tina. It’s wonderful to see her professional career get off to such a flying start as all her hard work and training begins to pay off. She deserves every success.”
