DELIFONSECA IS CHALLENGING THE NORTH WEST TO SHOP RESPONSIBLY TO MARK THE START OF DIVINE CHOCOLATE FAIRTRADE FORTNIGHT.
Located on Brunswick Way, the popular food hall is allowing you to take part in a bingo style scheme, purchasing Fairtrade products, in a bid to be in with a chance to win a selection of tasty prizes.
Fairtrade Fortnight, which takes place between February 29 and March 13, is a nationwide event which aims to highlight the importance of Fairtrade products.
Proprietor of Delifonseca Candice Fonseca said: “Year on year, we like to mark Fairtrade Fortnight and this time around we look forward to doing something different with a fun and novel twist. During the two week period, we are encouraging our customers to participate in our ‘Fairtrade Bingo’ – for each select product purchased, their bingo cards will be stamped, offering customers the chance of scooping up a delicious prize of either a 100g Divide Chocolate Bar when they have collected a line or a Divine Chocolate Goodie Box for a full-house. Once our customers get a taste for Fairtrade products, we hope that it will inspire them to continue the habit of choosing the responsible option long into the future.”
The aim of Fairtrade Fortnight, which was established in 1995, is to highlight the importance of paying producers a fairer price and to promote a better way of doing business that empowers both farmers and consumers.
Candice added: “Since our conception six years ago, we have prided ourselves on Dockside’s extensive selection of Fairtrade products, and in recent years we have certainly noticed the popularity of these products increase as consumers are becoming more aware of what’s on their plate.
