HIS & HERS UNASHAMEDLY LOVES CHRISTMAS. PART OF THE RITUAL AND MAGIC HAS TO BE A VISIT TO THE MCARTHURGLEN OUTLET VILLAGE. AMIDST THE RUSH AND COMMOTION OF WORK, IT IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO SIMPLY ENJOY. A DAY SPENT CHRISTMAS SHOPPING AND A LEISURELY LUNCH AT THE CENTRE, ARE ESSENTIAL PARTS OF OUR CHRISTMAS DE-STRESSING STRATEGY.

Words: Jean Hill

It’s not just mince pies Santa is eating this Christmas, the man himself will be visiting the Outlet Village Café Rouge for breakfast. Children dining at the restaurant with a paying adult (check dates) will receive a complimentary breakfast, and a chocolate treat! They will be entertained with arts and crafts. And they can give Santa their Christmas wish list. These are the dates: Saturday 25th November, Saturday 2nd December, Sunday 3rd December, Saturday 9th December, Sunday 10th December, and Saturday 16th December. Access the McArthurGlen web site (link at foot of this article) to make bookings.

The pop-up personalisation station will be at the centre on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd December. It will be providing shoppers with the perfect Christmas gift! You need to spend £120 or more across the centre to receive your free personalised treat!  Show your receipt at the personalisation pop-up located by Polo Ralph Lauren. Elves will be on hand with treats. Don’t you just love it when that happens.

Karl Lagerfeld is now open. The new store is located next to Belstaff. The brand’s portfolio includes ready-to-wear for men and women, children’s wear, bags and small leather goods. You will also discover: desirable watches, footwear, perfumes, candles and fashion jewellery.

There is live entertainment throughout the season. The Christmas Bell Boys, Festive Opera, The Lollipops and Christmas Barbershop Quartet will all be performing. Check the McArthurGlen website for dates.

Those laden with Christmas presents can head to the Christmas Corner. It is accessed via the magical archway by Ted Baker. The Après themed bar will be decked and decorated in traditional style. It is ideal for those looking for mouth-watering food and warming winter drinks.

The Christmas Corner will host a carousel, a German bar selling beers and gluhwein. The Cheshire Cheese & Wine Company is also located there. For those looking to satisfy their sweet tooth, hot chocolate and pick ‘n’ mix are, reassuringly, in the mix!

From the 10th November, the doors open to the magical walk-in Christmas tree. Children can join Mr and Mrs Claus from 4.30pm – 8pm. They can decorate their own robin or Rudolph cookie in the festive cookie shop.

Shoppers can also meet Santa on his sleigh and marvel at Chester Zoo’s much loved animal lanterns. It is an exclusive sneak peak of the zoo’s wintertime extravaganza, The Lanterns. An array of live performance characters from the zoo will also be on hand. The intention is to spread spellbinding, illuminating, theatrical adventure.

During the run up to Christmas, visitors can enjoy late night shopping. The centre stays open until 9pm on weeknights, extending until 10pm from the 23rd November onwards. We are excited already.
