HIS & HERS PREVIEWED TITANIC AURORA – ILLUMINATE YOUR CHRISTMAS PARTY EXTRAVAGANZA.
Christmas is coming, bringing the prospect of all things bright and beautiful. You need a festive strategy, and it could well involve a party package.
In previous features, we’ve focused on finding the ultimate Christmas party venues in the capital, and if you’re looking for a London venue for your Christmas party, and are feeling a tad overwhelmed with all of the options, companies like Canvas can help you to narrow the field (and stick to your budget!) Alternatively, if you’re looking for somewhere special in the North West, here’s why we think the Titanic is well worth considering…
We suspect that where an organisation chooses to hold its Christmas ‘bash’ is a democratic affair. Staff are a priority: it is intended as a celebration that is inclusive. So, what to consider.
The Titanic has it covered. From the red carpet welcome with a glass of Prosecco, it is an event that fizzes and sparkles. The décor in the hotel is classic: designer art deco tan leather chairs, gleaming dark wood stained floorboards, and classic architecture. We gazed on the spectacular view of the Stanley Dock. Exclusive hire party nights happen on pre-arranged dates. For the mezzanine: minimum 100 and maximum 250 people. West Bay – minimum 80 and maximum 180 people.
Guests also enjoy a three course Christmas dinner, and a bar in the private breakout lounge. Reception starts at 7pm on available dates*. The service is outstanding. My starter was scorched goat’s cheese and beetroot salad, that was piquant and delicious. Or you can opt for warming roast vine tomato soup. This is all about celebrating the season. So the main course had to include a wedge of turkey breast, with pigs in a blanket and pan gravy. There is a vegetarian option with roast pepper croquettes. To finish, in the style to which you are gleefully becoming accustomed, there is Christmas pudding. I preferred the cookie and cream cheesecake, with a subtle, intriguing depth of flavour and a definite crunch with the base.
We enjoyed listening to the Toni James Band: entertainment is part of the package. We loved the performers with angels wings, who balanced on stilts, who turned out to be fire-eaters. No honestly. If you are not part of a corporate consortium, there are midweek breaks and festive afternoon tea with sparkle. For those who shun their own kitchen on Christmas Day, the Titanic could be the destination of choice. It all begins with champagne. Something for everyone to indulge in.
Aurora Christmas Party Nights: Friday 30th November, 7th, 12th 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th & 21st December. Cost varies from £50pp to £67pp.
