If you’re planning on indulging in a spot of online shopping, His & Hers would highly recommend checking out Emma Willis’s chic new spring edit for Next. A year after launching her first clothing collection with Next, Emma Willis has now released a spring 2020 edit online, featuring footwear for the very first time.

Alongside shoes and sandals, the latest Emma Willis Collection features brightly coloured dresses, skirts, swimwear and tailoring in pops of red, blue, black and white – the perfect addition to your spring/summer wardrobe.

On colour & her new collection:

With five collections now under her belt, the TV star has learnt to embrace colour and have fun creating her own patterns.

This latest collection is a testament to that, with pops of colour appearing in swimwear, tailoring and dresses – which are (somewhat surprisingly, she admits) her favourite pieces because of their versatility.

“I would say my favourite pieces in this collection are surprisingly all the dresses. I honestly think we’ve nailed it. They’re really easy to wear, really versatile, you can wear them to work or out to drinks, they cover up in all the right places. I am for the first time in my life saying that dresses are my favourite bit.”

Though Emma tends to favour neutral tones over bright colours, she finds herself growing more and more comfortable with them as she gets older, seizing summertime as a key opportunity to be bold with her dress sense.

“In winter it’s navy, black, cream, white – simple colours – and then summer comes and I’m a different human. Bright colours, patterns… as the years tick by I’m embracing much more.”

While previous collections have seen neutral tones, the 2020 spring range introduces leopard, polka dot and checked prints along with colourful, Eastern-influenced designs.

On stepping out of her comfort zone

Though admitting in a previous interview that she’d be likely to “combust” if she were to work in the field of fashion full-time, Emma is now well versed in what it takes to design clothes.

With jewellery, lingerie and sportswear featuring in previous collections, footwear is now the latest string to Emma’s bow – suggesting an ever-present willingness to stray from her comfort zone and tackle new challenges.

“Go out of your comfort zone a little bit, try different shapes and new styles that you wouldn’t necessarily go for,” says the presenter when asked what she’s learnt from the process.

The result is footwear that merges simplicity with comfort to create easy-to-wear, flattering styles that are the perfect accompaniment to spring and summer wardrobes. Easily adaptable, the pieces are perfect for spring into summer, with the busy mum-of-three incorporating her preference for simplicity and comfort.

“With sandals, I like something that’s super simple and flattering on the legs. I tend to wear flats more in the summer.”

Emma Willis’s sixth collection features comfortable, relaxed pieces in sizes 6-22 that inspire a sense of freedom as the weather gets milder.

Beachwear such as crop tops, tunics, swimsuits and bikinis are included alongside dresses and jumpsuits, skirts and suits. The 50+ pieces range from striking black to vivid blues and reds, including polka dots, leopard, and kimono-style prints.

The versatile range is perfect for spring into summer and, reflecting Emma’s philosophy as a designer, combines style, comfort and affordability.

This collection is available online at next.co.uk and dropped at selected stores nationwide from 10th March. Related read: Nancy Buckland Kirk’s fashion memories, featuring Next.
