New Liverpool restaurant by Gino D'Acampo

DID SOMEBODY SAY THE WORDS: “NEW RESTAURANT & PROSECCO BAR”? COUNT US THE HECK IN!

Gino D’Acampo is well known for singing the praises of Liverpool and now the chef will be back in the city next week for the opening of his brand new restaurant and Prosecco bar.

He plans to greet guests in person at the super stylish new venue at number one Castle Street, in the former Grade II listed HSBC bank, on the Friday and Saturday after its official opening on Thursday, July 20.

The charismatic Naples born star, who headlined Liverpool’s Food and Drink Festival last year, said: “Liverpool is a cool place where people love to dress up, go out and have fun.

“After years of planning this, I can’t wait to welcome guests to My Restaurant Liverpool next week and I can promise them it will be fantastico!” (*italics are our own).

About Gino’s new Liverpool restaurant:

The 31,000 sq ft listed building boasts a 200 cover restaurant, open all day every day, a Prosecco bar, deli bar, open kitchen, summer terrace and private dining areas, one on a mezzanine level and the second, the Bullion Room, featuring its own private cocktail bar and games room, where members of Individual Restaurants’ Lifestyle Rewards Club, Club Individual, can enjoy complimentary games of Fussball, pool, table tennis and pinball.

The menu is packed full of favourites from his book and TV programmes and there is also a My Grocery Store, with Gino planning a spectacular roof terrace for phase two of the project and, rumour has it, a posh cinema and bowling alley.

The Prosecco bar features more than 40 different Proseccos, sparkling wines and regional wines, many available by the glass, and the wine list is complemented by classic Italian cocktails including seasonal Bellinis, artisan Italian beers and Neapolitan coffee.
The design has a true Italian feel, with the use of white marble, washed woods and Riva green leather reflecting Gino’s passion for his homeland of Naples in Southern Italy.

The chef promises to serve real Italian food as it should be. No compromises are taken on any recipes and the chef insists on the use of well sourced, seasonal, artisan ingredients by utilising his vast range of contacts across the diverse regions of Italy.
Every afternoon, guests will also be able to enjoy typical Italian nibbles called ‘Cicchetti’.
Gino said: “When I am back home in Italy I love visiting cool bars for Aperitivo – an Italian tradition for a pre-dinner drink with friends. I love it.

“At My Prosecco Bar it’s Aperitivo Time 4pm to 6.30pm everyday where my guests can drink, relax and also enjoy some wonderful Cicchetti on me! Salute!”

Gino’s career continues to go from strength to strength with his rating busting primetime TV series, Gino’s Italian Escape now in its 4th series, with filming for a 5th series underway. The primetime show will be back in November 2017, accompanied by his 15th cook book.

He is a firm fixture on daytime television, regularly appearing on This Morning and other primetime shows including Celebrity Juice, alongside his close friend Leigh Francis, better known to fans as Keith Lemon.

He has also recently finished a sold out 18-date back to back national tour of Gino’s Italian Escape live and launched his 14th Italian cook book, Gino’s Healthy Living for Less, in May.

Gino first made his move into the eating out market with the launch of Gino D’Acampo My Pasta Bar in central London, then moved into restaurants after teaming up with friend and business partner Steven Walker, founder of Individual Restaurants.
