Albert's Schloss

“Outside the snow is falling
And friends are calling …
Come on, it’s lovely weather
For a sleigh ride together with you”

Albert’s Schloss is located at the bottom of Bold Street in Liverpool. They offer a winter cook hous menu with an alpine theme. You could start with breakfast at 9am and stay all day into nightfall, without going off piste. It is difficult not to warm to its welcoming vibe, and the restaurant has the wow factor with a winter wonderland atmosphere.

First off, it is a spectacular venue. Its launch coincides with Christmas celebrations, and the sheer glamour and dazzle of it all welcomes you in. It has warmth and space, it has Christmas glitter and it has live music and entertainment. If you wanted a venue to celebrate with your friends and have a great time, look no further. The bar beckons and the staff are ready to make it a memorable evening.

It reminds me of the warmth of Berlin in December with bustling Christmas markets and spectacular decorations. It would be hard to resist. The staff are there to make sure you enjoy your visit. The winter cook hous menu offered plenty of choice. My companion, predictably, ordered bread, which turned out to be delicious. I opted for the paprika prawns; large, succulent and moreish. There was a beetroot and chèvre (goat’s cheese) tarte on the starter menu, which sounded amazing: Victoria plum, heritage beetroot, flaky puff pastry, baked hazelnuts and goat’s cheese.

We both opted for bier battered haddock fish and triple cooked chips with tartar sauce and mushy peas for the mains. Great comfort food, really fresh, flavourful chunky fish, beautifully cooked. Chicken with apple mash, ginger, sour cream and smoked paprika sounded tempting for next time. Such a creative mix to choose from. Pan roasted sea bass is on the menu and there are burgers a plenty.

The live band was so ‘rock’n’roll’ and so Liverpool. We shared a dessert of apple strudel, which was so good, smooth, rich with a little Christmas spice in the mix. We stopped to chat to friends; this seems like a good place to meet up and relax into that party mood.

Albert’s Schloss is a great addition to Liverpool’s hospitality offering.
