It’s that time of year when the Christmas rush is starting to subside. Perhaps you have managed to enjoy a carol concert, or watched that Christmas themed movie that is ridiculously sentimental, yet joyful. Time to meet your nearest and dearest, share some magic moments and enjoy a bite to eat.

Rudy’s does good pizza. Everywhere on the Dock has that special visual backdrop. Rudy’s provides a friendly, buzzing atmosphere and a warm, welcoming haven in a hectic world.
There was a chill breeze from the Mersey, but a warm welcome dispersed that in a moment. I would describe the space as cosy and warm. The staff are really helpful and friendly. House baked bread and olives are on the menu for starters. What’s not to love!
We ordered our pizzas. There are veggie options and add on toppings. My companion ordered the Salame. This comprises: San Marzano tomato, fior di latte (a style of Mozzarella cheese), Parmesan, Salame Napoli (spicy sausage), basil and olive oil. She ate pretty much all it, which was almost spilling (not actually) over a large plate! Mine was Capricciosa: which includes Prosciutto, Kalamata olives, Portobello mushrooms, Parmesan and artichoke hearts. Won my heart. The base of the pizzas is fluffy, crispy and flavourful. Capricciosa contains some of my favourite ingredients. I would not have said that I was a huge pizza lover. I can only say that I ate it all with serious intent. The mushrooms retain their distinctive flavour and blend beautifully with the Prosciutto, which was exceptionally tender with a subtle, dry cured flavour. This base is quite light and it turned out to be remarkably easy to eat a whole large plate of pizza. The flavours are beautifully balanced and contain wholesome ingredients.
There are desserts if you can find space. I chose tiramisu. Again it was quite light, no hint of sogginess. I noticed a chilli honey dip on the menu: intriguing and tempting for next time. We really enjoyed the evening. Jordan was on hand to recommend a really enjoyable Italian red and generally look after us well.
One of those evenings when recollecting, you smile at the memory. Totally relaxing.
