EVERYONE LIKES A GOOD HOUSE PARTY, AND IT TURNS OUT THAT HIGH STREET RETAILER NEXT IS NO EXCEPTION!

Tearing up the rule book about what a Christmas in July press day ordinarily looks like, the team at Next decided to do things very differently this year, taking over 38 Grosvenor Sq. for one seriously stylish house party.

The event was hosted by presenter Emma Willis and attended by some pretty excitable celebs, including Kimberley Walsh, who couldn’t resist doing a little happy dance as she spotted her new childrenswear range on the night:

As His & Hers entered the party, we saw a few of the things you’d expect to at a Christmas in July press day (namely waiters serving champagne and cocktails a-plenty, plus lots of immaculately dressed bloggers and fashion journalists chatting up a storm). However, we also noticed a lot of things that you won’t see at your typical press day, including a choir, a DJ and a bath full of make-up.

There was plenty of new-season fashion on show, and host, Emma Willis, made a series of playful videos, enlisting everyone’s help to pick the perfect outfit:

His & Hers stayed ’til the end of the night in the company of Martine Alexander (our very favourite celebrity stylist), Liz Lamb (an award winning journalist and Editor of the brilliant La Di Da Magazine) and Laura Davies, the talented Editor of Swansea Life Magazine. There’s something really special about getting to spend an evening with women who are getting stuff done in highly competitive industries, and who also happen to be great fun on a night out.

We left on a high as the Next team prepared for another big day, starting with a stylish brunch for more press and influencers.

Our verdict? It was refreshing to see a brand do something genuinely different and unveil their Christmas essentials in such a fun, informal environment. We loved the fashion on show (featuring plenty of sparkle, opulent velvet accessories and cosy knits, not to mention plenty of loungewear, which we’ll be seeking out for winter). And as always, we were thoroughly impressed with Next’s homewares collection. If you’re looking for a new throw, bedding, cushions or accessories, you could do a lot worse. And if you want some statement lighting, look out for their feathered ceiling light, which everyone was talking about. We have a feeling it’ll end up selling out fast.
