Recently, we paid a visit to the Suites Hotel Spa (one of His & Hers’ all-time favourite hideaways) to experience their Wake Up to Spring half-day spa package. Here’s what we thought…
Emma Hill wrote: The package we booked includes a Trio of Bliss signature treatment (which takes 55 minutes), full use of the spa and leisure facilities, a £10 allocation for lunch, and complimentary use of a robe, towel and flip flops. This package is available until 31st May and costs £82 per person on a Saturday or Sunday (when we booked) or £75 per person on weekdays.

We made our visit to stretch out the Mother’s Day celebrations and would highly recommend the spa if you’re celebrating a special occasion (we spotted more than one guest ordering champagne for a little leisurely post-treatment indulgence). Whether it’s a big (or small) birthday, an anniversary, a hen do or simply making it through the week, the Suites Hotel Spa provides the perfect setting to slow down and celebrate.
Personally, the prospect of spending a leisurely afternoon wearing a robe, having a nice chat and toasting my mum as we continued our Mother’s Day celebrations, was enough to impress me. Add in a Trio of Bliss signature face, back and scalp massage, which had been highly recommended, a delicious lunch which we were able to tuck into while still wearing our cosy robes (which somehow made it feel more indulgent) and the use of the thermal / relaxation rooms (which you’ll hear more about in Jean Hill’s review) and you have the makings of a perfect afternoon.
Regular readers will have spotted that we’ve been writing about the Suites Hotel Spa for years. Ever since we first had the chance to meet the friendly, professional team and take a little press tour of the treatment rooms and suites, we’ve been consistently impressed. I’d recommend the Wake Up to Spring half-day spa package to catch up with someone special in an ultra-relaxed environment, to toast a big occasion, or simply to take some time to yourself to relax and have your knots expertly massaged away!
Jean Hill explained: Mother’s Day is more about family and well-being, than a narrow definition, limited to just one day. His & Hers had booked into the Suites Spa for an afternoon of pampering, to literally stretch out the celebrations. Part of the package we opted for was a late lunch or afternoon tea, at the Spa, with a really varied menu to choose from.
The Spa Reception welcomes you to another country. Time stretches languidly to soothe your senses. It is a splendid, relaxing environment. In order to make this truly beneficial, there is a team of experts working very hard on your behalf. We changed into robes and flip-flops, which is a ritual that casts off the cares of the day. We did the conducted tour: with a range of options that dazzle and impress. We settled on coffee and tea in the Reception Lounge, whilst we chatted, in a tranquil atmosphere. There are many options to choose from.

The Thermal Suite has a foot spa, rainforest showers, and hot beds. Himalayan Salt Inhalation Steam Room, sauna and Ice Room combine to offer an enviable range of heat, ice and water treatments. All designed to fully realise the Spa experience.
The Relaxation Suite is a calm sanctuary with soothing sounds, relaxing aromas, large luxury day beds with pillows and duvets You can sleep, read or enjoy fresh water, herbal teas and coffee. There is a whisper only policy in this area. There is also a heated swimming pool that can be accessed during your visit.
We were collected promptly and escorted to our treatment rooms. We had booked in for the Trio of Bliss, which incorporates three mini treatments. The first was a back massage, that targeted stress points, and left my skin feeling silky smooth, and my body pleasantly fine-tuned. This was followed by a moisturising facial massage and soothing scalp massage. I discovered how much commitment to initial training and regular updating goes into perfecting these skills. Our package: ‘Wake up to spring’ also included access to the Thermal Spa and Relaxation Suite, and a one course late lunch.
The Spa has recent partnered with award-winning skincare brand Elemis – a luxury British skincare brand that pays meticulous attention to detail. It offers transformative results: a divine match made in spa heaven. I discovered Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm, which made my skin glow, and left a silky sheen. A must buy for ageing skin.
There is a more in-depth back massage: ‘I’LL BE BACK’ which takes 55 minutes and costs £59. This facial for the back treatment includes deep cleansing, hot cloth toning, exfoliation, deep tissue massage with rosehip and mint oil.
TWIN SOULS takes 55 minutes and costs £59. This is designed to nurture hard-working hands with an indulgent blend of skin smoothers and softeners. There is a restorative purifying exfoliation, deeply relaxing massage and nourishing mask to banish dry, cracked heels.
There are packages that include a stay at the hotel, with dinner and full English breakfast, with Spa treatments in the mix. All are tailored for your comfort and well-being. Check in and discover a wealth of benefits.
