Given the pandemic that the world is facing, mass gatherings are virtually impossible. There are restrictions in regard to the number of people that can gather in an indoor space. Some people who tried to evade these laws ended up getting arrested. Besides, it’s too risky to put many people in one place since it could run the risk of viral infections. If you live with an elderly loved one, it is the last thing you want to do.
Unfortunately, several events ended up getting cancelled because of the pandemic. There’s also no clear future about mass gatherings. The policy to avoid crowded areas seems to be the norm across different countries. You might wonder if we can still enjoy mass gatherings in the future to celebrate special events. If you’re getting married, you might worry that it won’t be a fun celebration anymore.
It’s temporary
Like anything that we faced in the past, we will get through this pandemic. Eventually, there will be a vaccine or a treatment to prevent the virus. When it happens, life as we know it could get back to normal. Scientists are working hard to produce an effective vaccine. When it’s finally safe to roll out, governments might relax policies regarding mass gatherings.
You don’t need to cancel your wedding
The wedding day is about you and your partner. It’s a celebration of your commitment to each other. It doesn’t matter if you host a big party or an intimate gathering. The goal is for you to tie the knot and prepare for a life together as a married couple. Since we don’t know when this pandemic is going to end, you should still pursue your wedding. In most places intimate weddings are okay. You can invite a few people in your household and some of your closest friends. It would help if you also observed social distancing and other health guidelines during the event. It might not be the event you dreamt of, but you can at least make the wedding happen. Besides, you can plan a bigger wedding in the future. No rule stops you from having weddings celebrations.
Look for the best venue
Choosing one of the best event venues matters a lot. Outdoor spaces are safe for gathering dozens of people. Look for an outdoor venue where you can celebrate the event. Check the weather forecast on that day since the event is outdoors.
Health and safety will remain a priority
If there’s a good thing that has come out of this pandemic, it’s a realisation that health and safety should be the priority. Even when it’s over, we will still observe health and safety guidelines. You might have an event involving hundreds of people, but you can still make it safe. Provide hand-washing facilities and allow social distancing. Protect the elderly by keeping them away from the crowd.
Don’t get disheartened because your plans aren’t going to happen in the future. You can keep on thinking of ways to make your special event happen without sacrificing safety.
