Amidst the ongoing lockdown across the UK, Liverpool five piece, The Heavy North, have this week announced details of their latest single, ‘Lying To Yourself’.
Shortly before the COVID-19 outbreak, The Heavy North played a handful of live shows including support slots with psych rockers Temples and heavy-hitting Birmingham duo Cut Glass Kings, rounding off a busy 12 months of live dates since the band’s festival debut at Liverpool International Music Festival (LIMF) last year and shows in Manchester, Leeds, Blackpool and Warrington’s Rivfest in October 2019.
Recorded, mixed and mastered by the band’s guitarist and producer Jose Ibanez at 3rd Planet Recordings in Liverpool, ‘Lying To Yourself’ is the brand new single from The Heavy North scheduled for release on Monday 4th May 2020.
The latest track follows the band’s last single ‘As Long As You’re Here With Me’ released in December 2019 which featured live footage from their sold-out headline show at Jimmy’s, Liverpool in September last year.
“Lying To Yourself is about those people in everyone’s lives who are struggling – either with their own demons or addiction, and they feel they can’t always be themselves” said frontman Kenny Stuart.
“Those people who can often lose their way and get swept up in the party, whilst keeping those who care about them at a distance. But most of all, it’s a song about telling people that you’re there for them when they need you most”.
The Heavy North’s latest single ‘Lying To Yourself’ is available on digital download worldwide from Monday 4th May 2020. The band return to headline Jimmys in Liverpool on Saturday 19th September 2020, 12 months on from their first headline show. Tickets £5 advance available from www.jimmys.live
