The London Carriage Works, a popular establishment nestled in the heart of Liverpool’s Georgian quarter, proudly announces its 20-year anniversary, marking two decades of culinary excellence and contribution to the vibrant dining scene of the city.

Since its inception in 2003, The London Carriage Works has stood as an independent gem under the dedicated ownership of Dave Brewitt. From the outset, the restaurant swiftly established itself as a leading culinary destination, garnering acclaim for its cuisine, exceptional wine list, and talented team of chefs. Notably, The London Carriage Works is the sole Liverpool hotel restaurant to hold 2 AA Rosettes and an AA Notable Wine List, distinctions it has consistently held since 2010 and 2013, respectively.

The restaurant’s menu features modern British fare and showcases a commitment to local, fresh, and seasonal produce.

Situated on Hope Street, between Liverpool’s iconic cathedrals, the restaurant’s name pays homage to the original occupants of the building, a coach and carriage builders firm dating back to 1860. The historical significance of the location is preserved, with the original name discovered during renovations and retained in respect for the building’s rich history.

Owner Dave Brewitt shared his thoughts on the milestone, stating: “‘We are delighted to be celebrating our 20th birthday! Since opening The London Carriage Works in November 2003, our aim has been to deliver fabulous food and drink with great service in beautiful surroundings. Congratulations go to our brilliant teams past and present – in our early years led by Paul Askew as our first acclaimed head chef, and, since 2017, led by Mike Kenyon who has continued to build on our earlier successes.  Thanks also go to all our customers over the two decades for their constant support.”

Reflecting on the transformation of Liverpool’s culinary offering over the past two decades, Brewitt added: “It is great that The London Carriage Works has played a part in helping Liverpool to develop its exciting culinary landscape – and we look forward to many more years creating brilliant menus and fantastic memories!”

To commemorate this significant milestone, The London Carriage Works invites guests to enjoy a special four-course menu and paired wine flight, available until 30th November between 6-10pm. Guests can also indulge in an extra-special afternoon tea, complete with a complimentary glass of fizz, available from 12noon-4pm from Monday to Thursday and 12-3pm from Friday to Sunday until 30th November.
