At His & Hers, we love Italian. The concept of afternoon tea with Italian attitude was irresistible. So mid-afternoon on a Friday, we started the weekend early and in style.

Gino D’Acampo’s 360 Sky Bar is where the Italian chef’s take on the great British tradition is going down a storm.  Food is served with a backdrop of panoramic views of Liverpool and beyond. Where we were sitting, we could see the waterfront and beyond right out into the Irish sea.

The Sky Bar is located on the 18th floor of INNSiDE Liverpool: a chic, fun and friendly space.

Afternoon tea was beautifully presented on a stylish gold tiered platter. It is available from 12pm to 5pm Sunday to Friday and 12pm to 3pm every Saturday. There are options: Afternoon Tea (£29pp) Franciacorta Rosé Afternoon Tea (£35pp) and Champagne Afternoon Tea (£37pp).

The Ferghettina Rosé tastes delicious and I feel sure the Champagne does too.

It is the attention to small details and the authentic Italian twist that makes it all so special. The bruschetta comes with Parma ham, Nduja honey and pistachio and tastes awesome. The subtle sweetness of the honey accentuates the fineness of flavour of the ham.

Truffle cream cheese is paired with pickled cucumber and cured Loch Duart salmon with crème fraiche and dill on ciabatta. The buttermilk scones are freshly baked with whipped blackberry butter and Cornish clotted cream. It is a classic and lives up to all expectations. The Italian theme continues with tiramisu and lemon and blueberry tart with soft Italian meringue. The creamy meringue tastes divine and this was my favourite dish. There is chocolate and hazelnut cheesecake with Ferrero Rocher. This is rich pickings indeed. The range of loose leaf teas is impressive. You can opt for coffee if you prefer.

The service is friendly and efficient. The Bar is elegant, the atmosphere is relaxed and everyone seemed to be having fun. There is a terrace leading from the Bar, and the views are stunning. I cannot think of a better way to start the weekend. Totally recommended.
